2. + Tips to begin your technology integration Assess
technology hardware resources (e.g., number of computer/iPad
devices) that available easily acceptable. Evaluate what software,
applications, computer and internet operations, you know how to
use. Determine how you would like to use technology or where on the
SAMR Model you would like to begin. Effective technology
integration begins first by identifying the student learning task,
and then identifies appropriate tool. Establish a cloud, then
create individual folders. Share links with students or create a
generic account using a classroom email. Students will have their
own folder in which they share with the teacher.
3. + Tips for fluency & management, Create shortcuts on
your computers or thin clients to frequently used websites and
programs. Demonstrate use of technology devices, software, apps,
etc. Use projector to display technology screen. Screen record
demonstration and make availbiale as a resource. Explain acceptable
and non acceptable uses and behaviors of technology. Develop a set
of rubrics to use. Include your students in writing the scoring
descriptions so that they take ownership and know what grade is
earned. Set ritual routines.
4. + Create communication opportunities Create ways in which
you can communicate with parents and students. Remind ( Software
that provides as safe way for teachers to text message students and
stay in touch with parents. Have an active Blog or teacher webpage.
Create and share (embed into website) a calendar. Google calendar
is easy to use. Gather communication information (parent emails,
etc.)
5. + Apps/software/functions I like to use Apple Devices:
Doceri, Educreations, iMovie, Microsoft Word, PPT, OneNote,
KeyNote, Pic Callage, Internet browser, camera/recorder, Google
calendar, Google Docs, Google Slides, Google Earth, Adobe Draw,
Kindle, Weebly, QR generator, Animoto, Maps, Web demo, Slide Share,
Youtube. Cloud systems: Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, iCloud
Embedding video and content into webpage, linking video and
content, screen recoding, cut-copy-paste, online resources, online
generators and software.
6. + Suggestions for professional development One suggestion is
for teachers to become more familiar with hardware and software
tools and their functionality by means of professional development
and self discovery. Another suggestion is for teachers to join or
establish a collaborative network of fellow teachers who are
willing to share and collaborate ideas.
7. + What is the SAMR Model It is a framework through which a
teacher can assess and evaluate the technology use in his or her
classroom. The model is the relation between tool and task. It is
tiered model transitioning from enhancing learning to transforming
learning. Tools are technology hardware and software (e.g., iPad
and applications). Learning tasks are student learning objectives.

8. + Technology goal in relation to SAMR model The goal is for
teachers to move from the substitution state towards the
redefinition stage so that the needs of the 21st century learner
are met with active learning opportunities.
