To provide support for learners in the timely completion of their qualifications. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POST: Advise and support learners in the selection of units to be assessed and to complete an individual learning and assessment plan. Assess learners undertaking the Award or Certificate (QCF) qualification and to provide feedback as to whether they are competent within the requirements. Assess the competence of learners in their job role i.e. as assessor or IQA. Monitor a learner’s progress every 12 weeks as a minimum, in line with the Review Policy. Ensure every learner’s achievement and success is timely. Liaise with the Internal Quality Assurer (IQA), to claim unit and full achievement. Meet and liaise with the IQA and Course Leader as required. Attend 3 standardisation/quality assurance meetings per year as a minimum and be available for Standards Verifier visits as required. General: The post holder may be required to perform duties other than those given in the job description for the post. The particular duties and responsibilities attached to posts may vary from time to time without changing the general character of the duties or the level of responsibility entailed. The post holder must comply with and implement relevant health, safety, security and welfare processes as required by the relevant statutory or college procedures.

PERSON SPECIFICATION: Qualifications:

Essential Desirable

Hold a Level 3 vocational qualification or equivalent

Hold D32/D33, A1, Assessor qualification

Hold a teaching qualification, PTTLS as a minimum or be working towards

Knowledge and experience:

Essential Desirable

Relevant and current experience as an assessor

Experience of assessing for one year as a minimum

Experience of working in a variety of settings with flexible working arrangements

Skills and competencies:

Essential Desirable

Microsoft Office skills appropriate to post

Good written and verbal communication skills

Respecting confidentiality

Other qualities:

Essential Desirable

Car driver

Good interpersonal skills

Effective organisational skills
