Layed upon the hard land, a space to rest, a space to work, places to think and socialize. Days spent in the ground creating with our hands. Evenings upon the land as celebration. Take refuge back in the ground or peer up to the stars. Rituals that bring us closer to our existence.

By placing The ambitions of The Roots of Music Program along an edge of Congo square, they become a catalyst for a reintroduction of Louis Armstrong Park. This engagement within the built environment between the community and the program serves to enrich the relationship between mentor and student.
This Culinary institute is tucked within the oldest part of the city. The Architecture is a building representation of the city’s urban make-up. The material hierarchy and construction logic addresses the same temporal issue that every structure surrounding the site does. How does one last in permanence while allowing for evolution to take place.

2 of seven. I was tasked near the deadline of this Lake |Flato / Turenscape collaboration to overhaul the images and to infuse a more true sense of Austin in them. Alterations include landscape species, entourage, design refinements and atmosphere. Photoshop
I was often responsible for creating images for client and public consumption. I concern myself with the materiality, personality of space, the nature of light, and tone of environments. My background in Automotive Design and Photography informs my process.

The Witte is the most popular museum in San Antonio. This natural history museum is in need of expansion. Lake |Flato is helping envision this through a extensive renovation and phased expansion of its campus. The project faces severe challeges including, extensive floodzones, neighborhood ordinances, politics and the like. I saw this project from SD through 100% DD.
Careful attention has been paid to the approach. The museum’s street presencem and formal sensibility means to bring several types of visitor flows seamlessly together through a extended landscape promenaude. Color pencil drawings attributed to Matt Morris.
An active rain garden wraps the front of the building to releave water back towards the river. The front entrance bridges over this depression. The depression acts as a natural barrier between vehicles and children.
This revit model represents the existing campus with previous renovations, overlayed with our phased demolition, renovation and additions. We cut one building back by a third and inserted the Valero Great hall. A team effort, I was initially responsible for organizing the demolition and modelling the phase changes to the great hall.

This great arch welcomes you into the lobby framed by a large flying Quetzalcoatlus skeleton overhead. Inset into the stonework are fossils and footstep imprints. Color pencil drawing by Matt Morris.
The level of percision in this model supports the underlays of the color pencil drawing of Matt Morris.
This sketchup model ran in parallel with the revit model as to serve as conceptual modelling tool. The high level of detail supports realtime critique of various architectural and landscape concepts. I was responsible for a large portion of this model and was expected to develop design iterations.
This phase III building sits almost entirely on floodzone compromised land. Site’s trees will not be removed. building entrance acts as orientation space. Exterior is major event space while interior space supports the requirements needed for acceptance of international travelling exhibits.

Built in 1908, this concrete frame, brick infill building processed and packaged peanuts. Closed in 1980, it has stood abandoned, derelict, and frequently occupied by squatters. The 20ft diameter silos are most impressive. The building is in fantastic structural condition.
Final design places two, double heigh loft-styled apartments in each of the four concrete (20ft dia) silos. Un-conditioned Vertical cirulation in front. Penthouse on fifth floor. Color pencil drawing attributed to Matt Morris.
Series of perspectives show life of young professional couples and college students living in housing throughout development. All units are secure, look toward courtyards, and have street access.
Took part in city planning commission meeting. compromises were reached in order to meet Ariel-access codes for this poorly sited historic building. Phase one includes 88 units and 65 parking spaces. Phase two include 78 units and 106 parking spaces.

In collaboration with Matt Morris, Partner at Lake |Flato Architects. This concept package was created to attract investors, in order to bring new life to an abandoned peanut processing and distibution plant by housing young professionals and college students, so to revitalize this region of the city.

Layered urbanization branching out from centers on US29 out to residential edges can meet housing deficits while providing access from the city center to the nation’s capitol.
Rerouting Amtrak lines along existing infrastructure and down US29 will better serve both the city and county’s growing population so as to provide efficient connections to the region. Twin gates placed at the edge of the ‘old city’ and the bounds of the Rivanna will frame continuing development and encourage a healthy density.
Along the highway, generous pedestrian bridges will stitch together formerly segregated citizens and generate central public spaces within the urban flows.
Neighborhood infill will improve urban mobility and weave tighter communities. Investments in the 29 corridor will establish the Charlottesville metropolitan area as a vital economic growth zone in the regionfor decades to come.
A proposal for economic growth of the charlottesville metropolitan area. Existing infrastructure is dotted with the provisional mundanity typical of American sprawl. Highway projects have further constricted the mobility of the landscape, dividing adjacent communities. Shifts in the urban city fabric have rendered the interstate railway’s location obstructive.
