I think all of us has had at least 1 moment in their lives were they were excited yet

scared at the same time. This was one of those heart-thumping moments. The whole

7th grade-- and the teachers of course, Had arrived in front of the hotel. We were

standing on the sidewalk, looking exhausted and extremely tired. from walking all the

way from the train station dragging our heavy load of luggage with us: Who am I going

to share the room with? Ever since I knew we were going on the trip, I was scared to

know who I would be grouped with.

“Oh my god, I don’t want to share a room with HER,” I would tell my friends. Come on,

who wants to share a room for 4 days with a person you dislike? In 4th grade, I had to

share my room with my best friend (which was great) and the rest, people that I hated

yet pretended to be friends with. No matter what kind of fun or boring things we did, I

had to put on a fake smile.

After the teachers had stopped droning on and on about the directions and the rules, It

was time for us to know who we would be rooming with. I crossed my fingers hoping I

would get someone who I am compatible with, UNLIKE the ones from 4th grade. All of

my friends were sent to the lobby to get their keys, but there were still three girls left.

Myself, Kristina and Pauline. A couple seconds later, the teacher called out our name.

All 3 of us walked in smiling,I could read their minds: We were on the same page.

As I climbed up 2 flights of stairs while holding my heavy bag, I looked for my room. It

was on the side where it was kind of hard to see the brown, wooden, door from my

view.

“Do any of you have the key?” I asked. Kristina nodded and unlocked the door. All 3 of

us were shocked with the amazing quality of the room.

“Oh my gosh, sit on the bed!” I exclaimed in shock. It was as bouncy as a trampoline

and as soft as a dog’s fur. I was in awe, the amazement was extended as Kristina

opened the door to the bathroom.

“Guys! Come here!” she said, Pauline and I dashed to Kristina and our jaws dropped

when we saw our faint reflections from the marble walls and saw the shiny, silver mirror

rims. It was not only us who were amazed, almost everyone else who came to visit our

room gaped at the room as if it was a rare collectible or some lost treasure.

“This, is way better than the cabins from 6th grade!” I said with a smile on my face.

After sleeping in that room for 3 nights, I learned to think positive and don't worry. It will

be fine, even if it wasn't very good before. The 4th Grade incident may have been bad,

but that didn't mean the 7th grade experience had to be bad as well.
