Throughout my time in academia and within my career, I have developed my personal skills and embraced every challenge and opportunity with full enthusiasm. After graduating with a 2:1 BSc Hons. Degree from The University of Birmingham in Chemistry with Business Studies, I continued my studies and successfully completed a secondary PGCE course. My first was inspired by King’s College’s ‘The Black box’ and supervised by Wolverhampton University, followed by an Action Research Project supervised by the University of Central England to consider the impact of specifically teaching practical skills to SEN students.

I am an advocate of the affective use of ICT to improve teaching and learning, being a competent user of interactive white boards, data loggers and mobile devices as data loggers and visual enablers. My commitment to sharing good practice has been recognised by being the West Midlands President of the Association For Science Education 2016, gaining the Smart Exemplar Educator award and maintaining my Chartered Science Teacher status.
