The next few weeks will be particularly crucial in termsof recruitment. We know that emergency recruitmentcontinues to be a challenge even with new procedures anddocumentation, and we really appreciate all your efforts. Here are a few tips and tricks from various SALVO sites todentify study patients and get staff involved: Highlight potential study participants with laminated

cards, additional stickers Distribute stickers and notes with contact details for the

designated SALVO midwives. Train additional SHOs, anaesthetists to inform patients

(use our Research Governance and SALVO training slides, and remember to document any training). Anaesthetists

who check on epidurals would be well placed to recruitpatients.

Target diabetics clinics, high risk clinics, specialanaesthetists clinics.

Introduce SALVO to new trainees at introduction. Liaise with labour ward manager or lead consultant

about getting all SHOs trained in GCP.Let us know if you have further ideas and suggestions!

We have sent out separate queries that are very importantfor our primary study endpoint: The steering committeehave asked us to cross-reference with local blood banksfor patients who have not received donor blood duringCaesarean. We really appreciate your help in this additionaleffort to ensure we are not missing any events!
