How do I get “saved”?Acknowledge that I am a

sinner.

Believe in JESUS CHRIST.

Confess with your mouth.

Rom 10:9 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Gods Faithfulness

Dependability, loyalty, and stability particularly as it describes God in His relationship to human believers (saints). The faithfulness of God and His Word is a constant theme in the Bible.

Footprints in the Sand  One night a man had a dream, He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the Lord.  Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.  He noticed two sets of footprints in the sand, one belonging to him, the other to the Lord.  When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand.  He noticed that many times along the path there was only one set of footprints. He recalled that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life.  He questioned, "Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way.  Then, why during the most troublesome times in my life, the times when I needed you most, would you leave me?"  The Lord replied, "My precious, precious child, I love you and would never, never leave you.  During your times of trials and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."

Col 3:5-6 “ Put Off”

5 So kill (deaden, l deprive of power) the evil desire lurking in your members [those animal impulses and all that is earthly in you that is employed in sin]: sexual vice, impurity, sensual appetites, unholy desires, and all greed and covetousness, for that is idolatry (the deifying of self and other created things instead of God). 6 It is on account of these [very sins] that the [holy] anger of God is ever coming upon the sons of disobedience (those who are obstinately opposed to the divine will),

Col 3:8-9

“Put Off”

8 But now put away and rid yourselves [completely] of all these things: anger, rage, bad feeling toward others, curses and slander, and foulmouthed abuse and shameful utterances from your lips! 9 Do not lie to one another, for you have stripped off the old (unregenerate) self with its evil practices,

Col 3:10,12

“Put On”

10 And have clothed yourselves with the new [spiritual self], which is [ever in the process of being] renewed and remolded into [fuller and more perfect m knowledge upon] knowledge after the image (the likeness) of Him Who created it. [Gen 1:26.] 12 Clothe yourselves therefore, as God's own chosen ones (His own picked representatives), [who are] purified and holy and well-beloved [by God Himself, by putting on behavior marked by] tenderhearted pity and mercy, kind feeling, a lowly opinion of yourselves, gentle ways, [and] patience [which is tireless and long-suffering, and has the power to endure whatever comes, with good temper].

Page 20: Salvation, The Saints and the Aints

Col 3:13-15 “Put On” 13 Be gentle and forbearing with one another and, if one has a difference (a grievance or complaint) against another, readily pardoning each other; even as the Lord has [freely] forgiven you, so must you also [forgive]. 14 And above all these [put on] love and enfold yourselves with the bond of perfectness [which binds everything together completely in ideal harmony]. 15 And let the peace (soul harmony which comes) from Christ rule (act as umpire continually) in your hearts [deciding and settling with finality all questions that arise in your minds, in that peaceful state] to which as [members of Christ's] one body you were also called [to live]. And be thankful (appreciative), [giving praise to God always].

Col. 3:16-17

“Put On”

16 Let the word [spoken by] Christ (the Messiah) have its home [in your hearts and minds] and dwell in you in [all its] richness, as you teach and admonish and train one another in all insight and intelligence and wisdom [in spiritual things, and as you sing] psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, making melody to God with [His] grace in your hearts. 17 And whatever you do [no matter what it is] in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus and in [dependence upon] His Person, giving praise to God the Father through Him.

In Summary We must be born from

above (born again, or saved).

We must choose to do “right things” not to get saved

; but because we are saved.
