General Notes
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY THE CONSULTANT OF ANY DISCREPENCIES BETWEEN ARCHITECTURAL, MECHANICAL AND ELECTRICAL DOCUMENTS PRIOR TO THE COMMENCEMENT OF WORK.

WHERE CONCRETE UNIT MASONRY WALLS ABUT EXISTING CONCRETE UNIT MASONRY WALLS, RAKE BACK MORTAR JOINT WHERE THE TWO MATERIALS MEET AND PROVIDE A CONTINUOUS BEAD OF SEALANT ON BOTH SIDES.

EXTENTS OF EXISTING CONCRETE SLAB ON GRADE REMOVALS HAVE BEEN GENERALLY INDICATED ON THESE DRAWINGS. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ACCOUNT FOR THE REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT OF THE EXISTING CONCRETE SLAB ON GRADE AS REQUIRED TO PROVIDE NEW UNDERGROUND DRAINAGE PIPING REQUIRED BY THE MECHANICAL DOCUMENTS.

WHERE EXISTING WALLS ARE REMOVED, REPAIR REMAINING ADJACENT ELEMENTS TO MATCH EXISTING. MAKE GOOD ALL WORK.6
EXISTING CORRIDOR WALLS ARE ASSUMED TO BE FIRE SEPARATIONS AND IT IS ASSUMED THAT THEY PROVIDE A 45 MINUTE FIRE RESISTANCE RATING BASED ON THE EXISTING DESIGN OF THE FACILITY. ANY AND ALL NEW PENETRATIONS THROUGH THE CORRIDOR WALLS SHALL BE FIRESTOPPED AS SPECIFIED TO MAINTAIN ASSUMED FIRE RESISTANCE RATING.
