Welcome to Graphene Energy, Inc. We are leading the development of next generation nano-technology based Ultracapacitors for energy storage. This technology utilizes a unique form of Carbon, called Graphene, for electrode material.

Existing battery technologies fail to address the marketplace needs for high-power energy storage.

Technology

Our patent pending technology is based on a new material called "Graphene". Graphene is a one atom thick structure of bonded carbon atoms that are densely packed in a honeycomb crystal lattice. It is best described as an atomic scale chicken wire of carbon atoms and their bonds. Shown below are two very high resolution images of single sheets of graphene material.

Applications

Renewable energy sources such as wind and solar are driving the need for superior energy storage devices. Ultracapacitors can capture, store, and deliver energy in a more reliable and cost effective manner and have the ability to charge and discharge millions of times without failure. Their high reliability, efficiency and operating lifetime makes them a suitable storage device for a broad range of applications. Examples include regenerative breaking, uninterrupted backup power in high reliability systems, electric power grid frequency regulation, power for wind turbine pitch systems, and power for actuator based systems. This new class of Ultracapacitor utilizing Graphene as the electrode material can store more energy than conventional activated carbon based units and promises to increase the adoption of Ultracapacitors for a wide range of energy capture and storage applications.

CONCLUSION

Graphene solar panels should be available to the public within the next two or three years. Once this happens people will see for themselves that there is a better alternative to fossil fuels. Graphene’s use into storage devices such as ultra capacitors will only aid in the advancement towards better and cheaper alternative energy.
