    p.s. 'or christmas 2010 tephanie made these stamped salt dough ornaments. o beauti'ul and easy

    alt dough ornaments are an easy holiday cra't that eeryone can do" and you can make them as simpleor as complicated as you like. roperly stored" they last nearly 'oreer.

    Step 1. Make the dough

    ut 1/2 cup table salt" 1/2 cup water" and 1 cup all-purpose 'lour into a mier" and blend together until a

    sticky dough 'orms. )' you want to eperiment with color" you can substitute 1/2 cup o' dark tea orco''ee 'or the water. 3ake sure all o' the 'lour is incorporated. &ake the dough out" and knead 'or 4 to

    10 minutes on a well-'loured sur'ace. nce it 'eels smooth and elastic" you are ready to start making

    ornaments. &his amount o' dough was enough to make si gnomes" two snowmen and eight snow'lakeso' di''erent si5es. &he recipe can easily be doubled" but be sure to keep any dough you are not using

    wrapped in plastic wrap" and work 6uickly 7 salt dough does not like to sit.

    nce the ornaments are 'ormed" poke them with a bamboo skewer to make holes to hang them 'rom. )decided to make my snow'lakes into a garland" so they got poked twice" on opposite ends. nce you

    hae the holes in" it is time to pop them in the oen.

    Step 3. Decorate and finish

    ne o' the loely things about these ornaments is that they can be 'inished in a ariety o' ways 7 theytake kindly to paints and pens o' all sort. 8or my gnomes" ) drew on a pair o' eyes with pencil" and le't

    them as is. 8or my snow'lakes" ) decided to draw a ariety o' little swirling doodles on them with red

    pen" and then ) strung them with butcher*s twine into a garland.

    )' you want your ornaments to last years and years" coat them with !- ery thin coats o' polyurethane

    gloss arnish. 3ake sure to coer eery eposed sur'ace. &his seals them and helps preent moisture

    'rom getting in. nce they are sealed" you can deck them out with glitter i' you like. tore them in acool" dry place and you will en;oy them 'or years to come.
