Sally Brunet’s Blue Ribbon Pie Crust: 2 cups of flour mixed with 1 tsp. salt, 1 cup shortening, and ¼ cup cold water. Fold gently and briefly. Split in half and roll each out on a floured surface. Apples: Peel and thinly slice 6-8 medium tart apples. Sugar Mixture: ¼ cup sugar, 1 tsp. cinnamon, and 2 tbsp. flour. Put bottom crust in 9” pie dish, add 1/3 sugar mixture. Layer apples and sugar until apples are higher than the pie dish. Cover with top crust. Add any remaining sugar mixture over the crust. Bake at 425 degrees for 20 minutes then 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes. Enjoy!
