CONDITIONS OF SALE.
First—The highest bidder to be the buyer, and if any dispute arise between two or more bidders the lot in dispute to be put up again and re-sold at the discretion of the auctioneer. The auctioneer’s decision to be final. The auctioneer reserves the right to make any alteration in the catalogue.
Second.—No person to advance less than one shilling; above £2, two shillings and sixpence; and so on in proportion as the auctioneer shall decide. The auctioneer may, in his discretion, refuse to accept the bidding of any person.
Third.—In the case of any lot on which there is a reserve the auctioneers shall have the right to bid on behalf of the Vendor.
Fourth.—Each purchaser is at the time of purchase to give in his name and address, and pay a deposit of five shillings in the pound in part payment of the whole of the purchase- money (if required), in default of which the lot purchased may be put up again and re-sold at the discretion of. the auctioneer.
Fifth.—_The auctioneer is not responsible for the correct description, genuineness, or authenticity of, or for any default or defect in, any lot, and gives no warranty whatever, expressed or implied, and no compensation shall be payable in respect to any such matters.
Sixth.—Each lot shall be at the purchaser’s risk in all respects from the fall of the hammer, and shall be paid for. in full, and taken away with all faults and errors of every description, and neither the Vendor nor Stevens’s Auction Rooms, Ltd., shall be liable for any damage to the same, or loss from whatever cause arising. The Purchaser shall pay a storage charge of from 1/- for small lots to 5/- per lot per day for any lot not taken away within two days after the Sale.
Lastly.—Upon failure to comply with the above conditions the money deposited shall be forfeited; any lot remaining uncleared may be re-sold by public or private sale, and the deficiency (if any) attending such re-sale, together with all incidental expenses and charges, shall be paid by the defaulter.
NO LOTS WILL BE TRANSFERRED.
The Clerk of the Sale has authority to refuse Cheques.
