    Assalamualaikum brothers/ sisters,

How are you?? Now, I will take your few importance times and for that, I am sorry.

Today, I want to tell you about the importance of prayer, which is Salat. Brothers/ Sisters, we

know about the importance of Salat. We know that Salat is the 2nd

pillar of the Islam. We know

that Allah has mentioned many times in the Quran about the Salat. We know many things, but

why we dont pray. What is our problem?? Anyone ask yourself that what is our problem??

Brothers/ Sisters, it is so important than any other good deeds. The Prophet (peace be upon

    him) said,

The first matter that the slave will be brought to account for on the Day of Judgment is the

prayer. If it is sound, then the rest of his deeds will be sound. And if it is bad, then the rest

of his deeds will be bad." [Recorded by Al- Tabarani, according to the al- Albani, it is

    sahih.]

This mean that whatever you do in your life, if you dont pray, your other good deeds will not

helpful for your life. Suppose, Brothers/ Sisters, you are studying in the university. Your major is

environmental science. You know that environmental science is your major, but you always keep

busy with Mathematics, Chemistry, physics etc. Brothers/ Sisters, do you think that the

department of environment science will give you a good certificate after your graduation. That

time, you can say that, sir, I have great knowledge about Mathematics, chemistry, physicsetc

except environmental science. The Department will say, good that you have good knowledge

about these courses, but whatever I gave you for studying, you didnt study. You have no

knowledge about environmental science. So, why I will give you certificate?

Brothers/ Sisters, Allah sent us in the earth only for worshipping HIM and Salat is the best way

for worshipping HIM. 1 hadith is coming to my mind which is

Once a man asked the Prophet (peace be upon him) about the most virtuous deed. The

Prophet (peace be upon him) stated that the most virtuous deed is the prayer. The man

asked again and again. The first three times, the Prophet (peace be upon him) again

answered, "The prayer," then on the fourth occasion he stated, "Jihad in the way of

Allah." [This is formed a hadith recorded by Ahmad and ibn Hibban. According to al-

    Albani, the hadith is hasan]

So, you see that our beloved Prophet (peace be upon him) also said about the importance of

    Salat.

There is another Hadith about Salat which is Prophet (peace be upon him) said:

If a person had a stream outside his door and he bathed in it five times a day, do you think

he would have any filth left on him?" The people said, "No filth would remain on him

whatsoever." The Prophet (peace be upon him) then said, "That is like the five daily

prayers: Allah wipes away the sins by them." (Recorded by al- Bukhari and Muslim).

So, Brothers/ sisters, in every day ,, we are doing huge amount of sins. Some sins we know,

some sins we dont know. Brothers/ Sisters, Allah gave us this opportunity to purify our self by

Salat. Why we are not using this opportunity. When we get opportunity to go to cinema, we go

which gives us for few minutes refreshments. But, Salat, which can help us to go to Jannah,

which can protect us from the hell of fire, which can help us to close to Allah. Sometimes, I think

that we are really foolish people. Now, we have opportunity for repentance to Allah, but we are

not using it. Who knows, tomorrow what will happen??

There is a Hadith about this.

The prophet (peace be upon him) said,

Take benefit of five before five:

your youth before your old age,

    your health before your sickness,

    your wealth before your poverty,

    your free-time before your preoccupation,

and your life before your death.

    Thank you Brothers/ Sisters.

    Assalamualaikum.
