3rd Sunday in Ordinary Time
“Follow me and I will make you fishers of men.” (MARK 1:17) Jesus’ call to “Follow Me” is a call to all Christians! The call is in the here and now, in our present circumstances, not when we think we are “ready” or have everything in order. Good stewardship of our God-given gifts means that things aren’t always going to go according to our schedule and that God has a much better plan in store for each of us.
Coming Soon! 30 Hour Famine Feb. 18th-19th
Here at St. Louis Church Hall, participants will go with-out food (plenty of drinks) for 30 hours to help save kid’s lives locally and globally. We go without food and raise money to help others. This is a lock in overnight event. All will learn about hunger, pray, form tribes, play famine games and more.
Please help by sponsoring someone who is partic-ipating. You can send the money to Mrs. Forget - all money goes to local and global charities.
If you are a student and want to participate, contact Mrs. Forget at (508) 943-0817 for an information packet.

How about making a Cursillo Weekend?
Cursillo or “short course in Christianity” is an uplifting and educational experience. The weekend is facilitated by a team of laypeople and clergy who deliver orga-nized talks and discussions. The weekend is full of laughter, prayer, great music, wonderful meals and so much more. Our 2018 dates are: Men’s - Feb.22nd-25th and June 14th-17th; Women’s - May 3rd-6th and Oct. 25th –28th. All weekends will be held at the Immaculate Conception Spiritual Renewal Center in Putnam, CT. For additional information, please contact Sue Leighton at 508-278-3155 or [email protected] OR Joan Laracy at 774-239-2474 or [email protected].
Next Weekend, Jan. 27th/28th, there will be a second collection for the Catholic Home Missions. Many dioceses here in the United States face challeng-es due to priest shortages, lack of funds, remote geog-raphy, or impoverished parishes. The Catholic Home Missions Appeal supports these dioceses that strug-gle to make ends meet and to serve the many needs of their parishioners. Thanks to your contributions, this Appeal can continue to provide catechesis, lay leadership training, funding for seminarian education, and other essential pastoral outreach in home mission dioceses. Your support will truly make a difference. For more information, please visit www.usccb.org/home-missions.
All Saints Academy Basketball Schedule
January 27th - ASA vs. St. James 6:00 PM (H)
In this Sunday’s Gospel, Jesus says: “Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men.” As disciples, we are called to continue God’s work on earth. Taking care of God’s poor is indeed living Gospel values.
Have you considered answering the call to serve the poor by joining the Society of St. Vincent de Paul?
St. Louis Parish is excited to once again offer the “Alpha Course” this winter!
It is NOT too late to sign up!
We meet on Thursday evenings, starting at 6:30 pm in the Fr. Joseph Marcotte Hall, St. Louis Church.
Alpha is a series of 10 Sessions. Each week starts with a meal, then a DVD presentation followed by small dis-cussion groups. Our focus is to have a friendly, com-fortable, relaxed, no-pressure atmosphere.
There is no cost to Alpha. Please come join us on January 25th and see what Alpha can offer you!
To help us plan, please call the Rectory Office at 508-943-0240 (9-3pm, Mon.-Fri.) or Email [email protected], and let us know if you plan to attend.
