Please remember St. Joseph’s Parish in your will
The mission of St. Joseph’s Church is to be a welcoming, caring, Christ-centered Catholic community. We desire to
experience and share God’s unconditional love. Inspired by the example of Jesus, we strive to lead all people to
wholeness and fullness of life.

The Sacrament of Marriage is celebrated after a period of preparation of no less than six months. Registered parishioners who wish to marry at St. Joseph’s are invited to contact one of the priests during regular weekday office hours before making any other arrangements. The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated, except during Lent, on the first and third Sundays of the month at 1:30pm. Please call the Parish Office to schedule an appointment with one of the priests. The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick is available at any time to any Catholic over the age of reason who is seriously ill, preparing for surgery or suffering the effects of age. The priests of the parish regularly celebrate the Eucharist and administer the sacrament of the sick at the area nursing homes; lay ministers lead services and bring communion to the residents every Sunday.

O blessed Joseph, faithful guardian of my Redeemer, Jesus Christ, protector of thy chaste spouse, the virgin Mother of God, I choose thee this day to be my special patron and advo-cate and I firmly resolve to honor thee all the days of my life. Therefore I humbly beseech thee to receive me as thy client, to instruct me in every doubt, to comfort me in every affliction, to obtain for me and for all the knowledge and love of the Heart of Jesus, and finally to defend and protect me at the hour of my death. Amen

To celebrate this Solemn Feast there will be a Holy Hour concluding with Benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament. For the final blessing with the Eucharist we will invite all those present to come forward to touch the base of the Monstrance to receive the blessings of Our Eucharistic Lord. Why not spend some time before Our Lord to seek His blessing.
The Holy Hour will be begin at 1:30 pm in the Church. Please join us in prayer!
A word about our Worship Hymnals
Our pew worship Hymnals were generously donated by a benefactor. They save our parish thousands of dol-lars over the years by eliminating paper missalettes and they are sustainable in their permanence.
Just a few reminders: Please do not braid or knot the ribbons; do not write on or mark the pages, and please return the hymnals neatly to the pew missal racks after Mass.
Thank you for your cooperation in observing proper care and use of our hymnals.
High School Seniors – Mark your calendars! Any High School Senior who will be graduating this year!
Saturday- June 25th at the 5 pm Mass we will be celebrating and praying for all of our graduates. Details will follow.

New Digital Baby Grand Piano
Through the generosity of two benefactors our parish now has a beautiful, brand new Yamaha Digital Baby Grand Piano. This instrument is Yamaha’s newest model, and features digital sounds of the world’s finest pi-anos, and also a broad palette of keyboard, string and rhythm instruments. I’m sure that this instrument will enhance our liturgical worship here at St. Joseph’s.
St. Joseph’s Cemetery Over the last two years we have completed four projects to help with our continued upkeep of our Parish Cemetery.
1. The Cemetery driveway was black topped. 2. The Cemetery has a new fence. 3. The mounds of dirt that collected over the years has been removed. 4. We now have a simple, gravel receiving area for the remains of our loved ones for when we have committal services after a Funeral Mass.
Family Mass Our last Family Mass for the Season was on Sunday, May 15th at the 12 Noon Mass. I want to thank all those who helped in any way to make our Family Masses during the year such a beautiful experience. Our Religious Education Staff, our young children who participated as Lectors, bringing up the gifts, Mr.Nigro and our chil-dren’s choir, our hospitality committee. Thanks to one and all!
Our Family Mass will resume Sunday, Sept.18th at the 12 Noon Mass.

Divine Mercy:
Hope of the Modern World
Presented by
Charles Junjulas, MA
Monday, June 6 at 7:00pm and
Wednesday, June 8 at 7:00pm
Saint Joseph’s Church
95 Plum Brook Road, Somers
“The flames of mercy are burning Me. I desire to pour
them out upon human souls. Oh, what pain they cause Me
when they do not want to accept them! My daughter, do
whatever is within your power to spread devotion to My
mercy. I will make up for what you lack. Tell aching man-
kind to snuggle close to My merciful Heart, and I will fill it
with peace” (Jesus to St. Faustina, Diary, 1074).
Join us for a time of prayer and meditation on the meaning
and message of Divine Mercy in the Scripture and Tradition
of the Church. The devotion will take place in our Chapel
with Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, the recitation of
the Divine Mercy Chaplet, and Benediction offered. Come
and see why Jesus said to St. Faustina:
“Proclaim that mercy is the greatest attribute of God. All
the works of My hands are crowned with mercy” (Diary,
301).
About the Presenter: Charles Junjulas is a teacher and a professor of The-ology, Scripture, and Philosophy. He teaches Theol-ogy at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic High School in Poughkeepsie, NY and has taught Theology and Phi-losophy at Mt. St. Mary College in Newburgh. He has been an instructor for the Diaconate Program of the Archdiocese of NY, the Center for Spiritual De-velopment, the NY Catholic Bible School, and is currently Director of Adult Faith Formation at St. Pius X Parish in Scarsdale, NY. He has offered nu-merous seminars and talks throughout the Archdio-cese.
