The little kids in the Christmas pageant always wanted to be part of the Magi. It might have been the costumes or the lack of speaking parts, but the big attraction was the gifts they carried. Gold, frankincense and myrrh, in beautiful, treasure chest boxes, are held up high for everyone to see. It’s quite spectacular! The best gifts we can give are not so visible, and may even go unnoticed, but they make a differ-ence. Kindness and consideration come in the form of a helping hand, a kind word, or a note of thanks. Consolation and reassurance come in hugs and held hands, encouraging words and a loving smile. Hope and healing come in the form of kisses and a pat on the back, while peace and quiet come in the form of a parent night out, a late night coffee or a special moment together. You
don’t need a lot to offer a lot. Find out for yourself. Give a gift and feel like a king!

Saint Vincent de Paul: Today we celebrate the feast of the Epiphany, where the Magi find the newborn king and offer him gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. In the spirit of the Magi, please put your gift in the St. Vincent de Paul Poor Box so that comfort and peace can once again be given to a newborn child.
Stewardship Note: “Then they opened their treasures and offered him gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.” The image of the Magi keeling before the infant Jesus and opening their treasure chests for Him is an image that we should all try to follow all year long. In gratitude for all that we have been given, Christian Stewards are called to generously share all of our gifts, not just the ones we pick and choose. God wants us to be the most generous with that one thing that means the most to us.

EPIPHANY CHALK Blessed chalk and incense are available at the front of our Basil-ica. As you enter or exit the church, please take an envelope to bless your home. Using the chalk, the year and initials of the Three Kings (Caspar, Melchior, and Balthazar) may be inscribed above your entry and exit doors as follows:
20+C+M+B+20
Following the inscription, a simple prayer may be said: The chalking of the doors is a centuries-old practice throughout the world. It is, however, an easy tradition to adopt, and a great practice whereby we dedicate our year to God from its very outset, asking His blessing on our homes and on all who live, work, or visit there.
RESPECT LIFE MONTH Can’t make it to the March for Life in D.C.? FEAST OF THE EPIPHANY OF THE LORD The Epiphany is a Feast Day within the Church’s liturgical celebration of Christmas. In the current Western tra-dition, we associate it with the “Visit of the Magi,” or visitors from the East recounted in Matthew’s Gospel. (Mt 2:1-12). Epiphany is traditionally cele-
brated the 12th day after Christmas, (Twelfth Night), January 6th.
Epiphany takes its name from the Greek epiphania, a manifestation. Je-sus, born quietly in Bethlehem’s stable, is revealed, or made manifest, as the Son of God. In the recognition of Him by the Magi, the Christ, He is re-vealed to the “nations.” (see, for example, Is 42:6; Is 60: 1-6; and Psalm 72:11)
The Feast Day is associated with three events in the life of Christ when His divinity shines through His humanity: the adoration of the Magi; the baptism of Christ in the Jordan (Mt 3); and the first miracle at the wedding feast of Cana, (Jn 2), The latter two of these were designated as Luminous Mysteries of the Rosary, by Pope St. John Paul II in 2002. In these “Mysteries of Light,” we meditate on the revelation of Jesus as the Divine Son of the Father.
Prayer for marking the door with chalk Lord Jesus Christ, whom the Three Wise Men
Found as a Child and they paid homage to You,
who grew up in a house in Nazareth by the side of Mary and Saint Joseph, sanctify our home with your presence. Let Your love goodness and chastity
prevail in our family. Let us all create a home church,
Where we constantly praise and glorify you.
Let the sacred symbols we put on the door of this house
remind us and those who will visit us
that we are a home church and we want to follow the star of faith
to meet with you In our Father's house,
with whom the Holy Spirit unites you and where You live and reign
for all ages. Amen
GUEST FROM CAMEROON Today we are hosting Sister Anuncjata Waszewska from the Congregation of the Sisters of Divine Providence. Sister has been working for over ten years in the parish of St. Vincent de Paul in Essiengbot in the diocese of Doume-Ambong Bang in Cam-eroon. Her main task in the mis-sionary service is health care, which she provides to local peo-ple in a little clinic in a tropical forest. Her daily duties include caring for patients with malaria and other tropical diseases, con-
ducting research and diagnostics of various diseases of her patients, as well as helping mothers expecting a child. In addition, she looks after sick people who live in nearby vil-lages. Today, Sister Anuncjata will share with us a reflec-tion on her missionary min-istry. Her work requires great physical and spiritual effort. Let's surround her with our prayers. Today's second collection is also intended to support the missionary work of the Sisters of Divine Provi-dence.
God bless you!

Jeśli je odczytamy, jak Mędrcy odczytali znaczenie gwiazdy, wówczas znajdziemy Go. Jeśli będziemy się Go bać, bo nie chcemy nic zmienić w swoim systemie wartości, wówczas Go nie znajdziemy, jak nie znalazł Herod. "Kto straci swoje życie z Mego powodu, znajdzie je. A kto chce zachować

7:00 (msza dwujęzyczna), 9:00 (msza w j. angielskim), 10:30 (msza w j. polskim).
Znacznie starszy i głębszy przekaz mówi, że drzwi należy oznaczać napisem C+M+B, a do liter dopisać datę bieżącego roku: C+M+B 2019.
MSZA WOTYWNA I NOWENNA KU CZCI ŚW.
boku Maryi i świętego Józefa, uświęć i nasz dom swoją obecnością.
Niech panuje w nim Twoja miłość, dobroć i czystość.
składa Ci uwielbienie i chwałę.
do domu naszego wspólnego Ojca, z którym w jedności Ducha Świętego
żyjesz i królujesz przez wszystkie wieki wieków. Amen
GOŚĆ Z KAMERUNU Dzisiejszej niedzieli gościmy wśród nas siostrę Anuncjatę Wa-szewską ze Zgromadzenia Sióstr Opatrzności Bożej. Od ponad dzie-sięciu lat siostra pracuje w parafii św. Wincentego a’Paulo w Essiengbot w diecezji Doume - Ambong Bang w Kamerunie.
Jej praca wymaga wielkiego wysiłku fizycznego i ducho-wego.
