SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM
The Sacrament of Baptism is offered every Sunday at 12:00 noon. Please make arrangements for the Pre-Baptismal instructions after the birth
of the child in person at the rectory. Pre-instruction for both parents is required.
SACRAMENT OF MATRIMONY
Arrangements must be made at the rectory in person by the couple. Where possible,
arrangements should be made one year in advance and no later than six months.
SACRAMENT OF ANOINTING
Communal anointings of the sick are celebrated. Individual anointings may be celebrated
anytime by request.
HOSPITAL AND HOME VISITATION Please notify the parish of any family member
who may be ill at home or in the hospital. We welcome the opportunity of visiting them
and bringing them the Eucharist.

The Reason for Labor Day
On this Labor Day weekend most of us take a break from what we refer to as our "jobs" in order to rest and re-create. We are invited to honor human work and all human workers. It is a unique secular holiday with profound Christian potential. Many will gather for late summer cookouts and celebrations. We may sleep in a bit later than usual and relax from what is so often a frenzied pace in our contemporary pattern of life. For many parents, Labor Day weekend marks a transition from the hectic pace of the summer to the new hectic pace of the school year. For students and teachers, it is also a portal into the new school year when we begin the work of education, a word whose Latin root means to "draw out" of the student what is good. Through authentically Christian education we are all invited to be drawn out into a fuller way of life. For Christians, Labor Day invites us to examine how we view our own labor in the light of what the Scriptures and the teaching Church proclaims about the dignity of all human work, no matter what kind, precisely because it is done by human persons who are created in the Image and Likeness of God. All Rites Reserved: Catholic Online: Deacon Kieth Founier My brothers and sisters, this article reminds us how important it is to find the dignity in our work but, also reminds us that our jobs are supposed to fulfill our lives not create emptiness and unbearable stress. We take this weekend to look at our jobs and careers, to thank God for what we have, and to evaluate our lives. Make sure there is a healthy balance between life and work. May you all have a blessed and relaxing Labor Day.

THE TWENTY-SECOND SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
Eucharistic Adoration is held every Weds. From 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Adoration Chapel across from the Rectory. Adoration is also on Sundays at 4:00 p.m. The Divine Mercy Chaplet will be sung at the Holy Hour of 3 p.m. on the second Weds. of each month. In the event either of these is canceled due to inclement weather or Holy Days of Obligation, we will send an email as soon as possible.
Religious Education News
Classes begin the week of September 9th for Sunday, Tuesday, and Wednesday Classes.
Monday Classes begin on Sept. 17th as we follow the Public School’s schedule.

A Catechist Conversation: Part II, Sat., Sept. 8th 9:00 a.m.-Noon
The Catholic Rite of Baptism calls parents “the first teachers in the way of faith”. If Mom and Dad are the first teachers, perhaps the catechists in our parishes are the second. This year, our conversation with Bishop Caggiano focuses on the important role that parents play in the formation of young people. How can you help? Host a Coffee Social-ask another family or two to co-
host with you. It’s easier and more fun hosting with others. If you’d like to be reimbursed, give your
receipts to Kimberley in the Parish Office or you may wish to donate the cost as a charitable contribution. Help the host with setup. Help the host by baking or providing refreshments. Come and enjoy the community building. Talk it up with your friends and come join the fun! St. Francis provides the coffee, tea, sugar, juice and paper products.
