A recreaonal area devoted to providing fun, educaon, and relaxaon away from the confines of our Mooseheart Child City. This is a year round facility , offering a retreat from the daily grind of homework and household chores. A place for kids to have me to be kids. I was able to witness first hand the beauful, country side these kids get to enjoy. The rolling hills. The bluff overlooking the river. The hiking trails meandering through the dense foliage. And the ny cabins, each offering bunk beds and bathrooms for our students of nature. Occasionally there are Moose events and weddings that take place at this lile slice of heaven. It is located along the Fox River and was donated back in the 1950’s to forever be enjoyed by our children at Mooseheart. At this Celebraon, you will have an opportunity to hear my story and see the pictures of this wonderful outdoor aracon located about 60 miles west of Mooseheart. I will speak of the many buildings includ- ing the Chapel, Bunk House, and Swimming Pool. We will hold this presentaon at 9 am in the Morning on Sunday September 26 right aſter the Directors and As- sistant Secretaries Meeng. Followed by a short ques- on and answer session. I know each of you make do- naons to different projects and the Endowment Fund each year. Fiſty cents from your annual Moose legion dues are used to offset the operang expenses incurred at the camp. In years past, there have been Moose Legion Projects that specify unique needs at the me. If you remember a few years ago we raised fund for improvements to the Bunk House. And just last year, we worked to sup- port maintenance equipment needs at the camp. To- gether raising over $30,000 to replace some very aged equipment. You wont want to miss this opportunity to hear and see some of the highlights of this great thing we sup- port so our kids have a unique and fun place to recre- ate in the wilderness. Who knows, maybe even you will get goosebumps while the story is being told. As I relive my visit and put you face to face with something we Moose Legionnaires believe in so much. Doing some good thing for someone each day. Of course if you are inclined to make a donaon, we will be happy to forward it to Moose Charies.

A Quick Walk Through Mooseheart’s Camp Ross Revisited A few years ago, I had the opportunity to take a quick walk through Camp Ross. A recreational area devoted to providing fun, education, and relaxation away from the confines of our Mooseheart Child City. This is a year round facility , offering a retreat from the daily grind of homework and household chores. A place for kids to have time to be kids.

I was able to witness first hand the beautiful, country side these kids get to enjoy. The rolling hills. The bluff overlooking the river. The hiking trails meandering through the dense foliage. And the tiny cabins, each offering bunk beds and bathrooms for our students of nature.

Occasionally there are Moose events and weddings that take place at this little slice of heaven. It is located along the Fox River and was donated back in the 1950’s to forever be enjoyed by our children at Mooseheart.

At this Celebration, you will have an opportunity to hear my story and see the pictures of this wonderful outdoor attraction located about 60 miles west of Mooseheart. I will speak of the many buildings includ-ing the Chapel, Bunk House, and Swimming Pool. We will hold this presentation at 9 am in the Morning on Sunday September 26 right after the Directors and As-

sistant Secretaries Meeting. Followed by a short ques-tion and answer session. I know each of you make do-nations to different projects and the Endowment Fund each year. Fifty cents from your annual Moose legion dues are used to offset the operating expenses incurred at the camp.

In years past, there have been Moose Legion Projects that specify unique needs at the time. If you remember a few years ago we raised fund for improvements to the Bunk House. And just last year, we worked to sup-port maintenance equipment needs at the camp. To-gether raising over $30,000 to replace some very aged equipment.

You won’t want to miss this opportunity to hear and see some of the highlights of this great thing we sup-port so our kids have a unique and fun place to recre-ate in the wilderness. Who knows, maybe even you will get goosebumps while the story is being told. As I relive my visit and put you face to face with something we Moose Legionnaires believe in so much. Doing some good thing for someone each day.

Of course if you are inclined to make a donation, we will be happy to forward it to Moose Charities.

Secretary’s Message Here it is Monday morning and just getting over the trip to Lake Worth. It was a great meeting, very proud of all the lodges that participated. A lot was accom-plished, in that we are paying our commitment to Moose International and also the extra commitment to the Presidents Project. After all Dan O’Neill is now Moose Le-gions International President.

Just want to say I am disappointed in a couple of lodges that did not partici-pate. This must change, we need all of us working together to keep sailfish moving forward. We accomplished a lot last year and I would like to see us accomplish even more this year. It is going to take a lot of work.

The Pick 3 is back, each of your lodges have been given a flyer to put on the wall and also the sheets for you the members to fill out. It’s only $10 to play for three months so let’s see if we can get even more of you to play the game. All of these funds that we raise, for Mooseheart and Moosehaven that’s what Sailfish Moose Legion 197 is all about.

Lake Worth Lodge 994 is planning a great celebration. I know it is our fur-thest most South Lodge but I would really like to see a great turnout. On Saturdays events as you will see in this newsletter that is a golf tournament. It was announced at the meeting Marty has 44 members playing. And I know are President Bill signed up to play. I am very happy

Fraternally, Lee Singleton, Secretary
