1 Career
Sai Tamhankar was born in Sangli. When she was inChintaman
College of Commerce, Sangli, she startedher career doing street
plays and inter-college dramacompetitions, moving on to working
withAamir Khanin Ghajini(2008) andSubhash Ghai s Black &
White.Thereafter, she developed interest in acting and
startedtaking part in Inter collegiate competitions. Her play,Aadhe
Adhure got her the Best Actress award, whichencouraged her to take
up acting as a career. She also au-ditioned for anMTVprogramme. Her
first break, how-ever, came for a Marathi serial, which got her
more seri-als. It was during the award ceremony of her play that
shewas offered a major role in the marathi sitcom 'Ya Gojir-vanya
Gharat'. Since she has also acted in other Marathiserials like,
Agni Shikha, Sathi Re and Kasturi. She hasalso been a part of Hindi
films likeSubhash Ghai'sBlack& Whiteand Ghajini. Apart from
Marathi serials, Saialso featured in Balajis Kasturi. While
shooting forthe Ghais Black and White, she was offered the leadrole
inSanai Choughade.In Recently released Marathi
filmDuniyadari(2013) she played the role of 'Shirin'.Her next
release were detective thriller Pune 52oppo-siteGirish Kulkarni.
She then starred in Sou Shashi De-odhar along with veteran
actorAjinkya Deo. Her nextrelease was Diwali releasePyaar Vali Love
Storyreunit-ing her withDuniyadariteam of directorSanjay
Jadhav,Swapnil Joshiand Urmila Kotharealong
withUpendraLimayeandSamir Dharmadhikari. She has played a
dif-ferent role in 2015 released filmClassmates. She is con-sidered
to play bold and modern women roles as seen inMangalshtaka Once
More,No Entry Pudhe Dhoka Aaheyand Hunterrr. Currently she is
shooting for Sanjay Jadhav
Directed Tu Hi Rewhich will be released on 4 September2015.
Actress SaiTamhankar finally tied the knot with longtime
boyfriend Amey Gosavi, a VFX specialist, on 15 Decem-ber
2013.
