SAHYOG 2017-ALUMNI MEET

To bring all the Alumni on a common platform, the yearly ALUMNI MEET ‘SAHYOG 2017’ of IMED was held on 21st

January 2017. It was inaugurated by the honorable Dr.Sachin Vernekar, Dean FMS, Director IMED in the evening in the

Seminar Hall. After the inauguration and welcome, the alumni were entertained by the current batch of students to

some entertainment events that lasted for 45 minutes. The occasion was graced by 30 Alumni. After the cultural events

the Director addressed the elite gathering. The Director gave a brief update on the various achievements of IMED in the

past and also on the various events carried out in the last year. He underlined and praised the achievements of Alumni

of IMED and their contribution to IMED in all walks/spheres of life. He felt that it was a matter of great pride for IMED

that its Alumni are holding positions of responsibility in various corporate in India and abroad. Many of them are

successful entrepreneurs providing jobs to others as well. He praised their contribution towards the growth of their

Alma Mater and emphasized the need for further strengthening the linkage between the Alumni and IMED and the

current students.

After the address by the Director , the Alumni came on stage and introduced themselves individually. After the

introduction they interacted with the students-giving them insights into their experience in IMED and their corporate

experience till date. It was followed by a Q & A session where students asked questions.The meet concluded with a

dinner on the IMED rooftop.All the faculty and staff members of IMED as well as the current batch of students

attended the meet.

Some of the suggestions that the esteemed Alumni shared are: 1.Dr.Ujjal Bhattacharjee HR Director at GKN Sintern Metals focused on extracurricular activities other than academic curriculum. He also stressed on versatility and an all-round approach to one’s career. 2. Ms.Chhavi Choudhary from AUDI, Pune stressed on getting practical knowledge and implementing practically what is learnt in the classes. 3.Mr.Mayur Tolani suggested to use IT to a maximum in all aspects. He told students to learn new things every day. Also suggested to go in for web sessions/skype sessions for those Alumni who cannot make it to Pune. 4.Mr.Mayuresh Ghare advised students to go for Industry live projects and internships.
