Mission

The San Antonio Housing Authority provides quality affordable

housing that is well integrated into the fabric of neighborhoods

and serves as a foundation to improve lives and advance

resident independence.

SAHA Vision and Mission Statement

1. Empower and equip families to improve their quality of life and achieve economic stability.

2. Invest in our greatest resource our employees and establish a track record for integrity, accountability, collaboration and strong customer service.

3. Preserve and improve existing affordable housing resources and

opportunities.

4. Strategically expand the supply of affordable housing.

5. Transform core operations to be a high performing and financially strong organization.

6. Develop a local and national reputation for being an effective leader, partner, and advocate for affordable housing and its residents.

SAHA’s Strategic Goals

The Section 32 Homeownership Program assists

Low to Moderate Income families with income at

30% or below 80% of the Area Median Income

purchase a SAHA own home ranging in price from

$60,000 to $ 82,000.

Section 32 Homeownership Program

Must satisfy HUD regulations related to Homeownership cost-to-income ratios

Must be a first-time homebuyer, or not have owned a home in the last three years

Must complete a pre-purchase counseling workshop prior to closing and with a post-purchase training within 30 days of the closing

Must qualify and obtain an FHA, VA or Conventional Mortgage loan

Must provide a minimum down payment of one (1) percent

of the sales price utilizing personal funds

Eligibility Requirements

SAHA also partners with community based

organizations, like Neighborhood Action

Division, Neighborhood Housing Services and

Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Greater

San Antonio, to ensure families have vital

homeownership counseling and help in the

home buying process.

Must complete the SAHA application process

Must submit all documentation to your chosen lender or mortgage company

Must provide SAHA an approval letter from lender or mortgage company

Must meet all Section 32 Homeownership Program guidelines prior to closing
