SAGE RECOMMENDS

SAGE Recommends is a cross-platform recommendation widget that shows users similar content from other SAGE resources, including SAGE Journals, SAGE Research Methods, CQ Researcher, Business, Researcher, SAGE Stats, and US Political Stats. This new feature discovers relevant content from other SAGE sites, based on what a user is currently reading. It is a great way to discover relevant or interesting material that users might otherwise have missed, including journal articles, case studies, reports, podcasts, and even numerical data. The tab appears on all book chapter, reference entry, debate, and video pages. The tab does not appear on book landing pages, but users can find content that is relevant to a book by navigating to the introductory chapter and proceeding from there.

By default the recommendations are sorted by relevance, but the drop-down filter allows users to display the most recent content first. Clicking on a link will load the content in a new tab. A user can often see a tool-tip that tells them what concepts a link has in common with the material they are currently reading by hovering their mouse over the link.

Overview: Each title includes an overview of the discipline, where the editor explains how he or she selected the readings.

Key Readings: A chronology gives the user the opportunity to visualize development of research within a topic. It shows the categories that the editor defined as most important, plotted on a timeline. Colored dots, each of which represents a key reading, are designed to help researchers recognize patterns within the topic. Links to key readings can also be found beneath the chronology tool. Users can then select the readings listed to review an abstract of the journal article. They will be able to read the full article If their institution has a subscription
