Safety valves release exc ess pre ssure so as to pre ven t damag e to the system. They are usually spring loaded to a pre-set pressure limit. When the pressure in the system reaches this limit the valve will open fully, allowing the excess pre ssure to esc ape . The excess pre ssure is either allowed to escape into the atmosphere, or sometimes it is burnt off. Once the excess pressure has been released the valve will close. Safety Valves.Safety valves release excess pressure so as to prevent damage to the system. They are usually spring loaded to a preset pressure limit.When the pressure in the system reaches this limit the valve will open fully, allowing the excess pressure to escape.
