Portal Navigation

1. Content Navigation: Nearly all content in the portal is reached by using the

horizontal top navigation. Content pages include the important Getting Started page, and all of the resource center pages. If you are looking for a piece of content, in all likelihood you can find it easily from the top navigation.

2. Functional Navigation: You can reach all functional activities such as attending training, updating your profile, etc. through what we call the “admin nav”. Looking to create, update, or review something? You’ll get to it from the admin navigation.

Registering for Access The partner portal supports self-registration for access. If you or anyone in your company needs access to the portal, registering takes only a moment. On the portal login screen there is a link below the login form that reads “Register Here”. Click that link to be taken to the registration form.

In order to register for the portal, your company must belong to the SafeNet partner program and be authorized to access the portal. If your company does not appear in the drop-down list titled “Company” please contact your field sales representative. For security purposes, you must use an email address from your company’s email domain. If the email address you enter doesn’t match up with your company’s email domain the portal will not allow you to register. Once you submit the form the portal will email you immediately with your temporary password.

Forgot Password If you have forgotten your password you can quickly get a new temporary password emailed to you. Just click the link “Forgot My Password” and enter your email address. You will receive an email with your new temporary password almost immediately. If you don’t receive your reset password email please make sure you have ‘[email protected]’ whitelisted with your spam filters and try again.

Getting Started If you are new to the portal, one of the first places you should visit after logging in is the Getting Started page. This page is loaded with tips for helping you get started. On it you will find links to important resources, as well as contact information for sales support, tech support, etc.

In general, if you have a question about our program or about the partner portal itself, we recommend you start here.

Finding Resources The partner portal offers a wide variety of resources that can help you grow and manage your business with SafeNet. The portal offers a quick text-based search feature that allows you to search the entire resource library at once. You can use the horizontal top navigation to browse through categories for a more directed search.

6   SafeNet  Partner  Portal:  Partner  User  Guide

Once you’ve navigated to a resource library category page, you’ll find a description explaining the purpose of the documents located within that category. At the bottom of the page is the listing of all resources found within that category. Results are broken up into pages for easier browsing. Some categories may contain more resources than you’d want to page through, so we’ve added quick filters to every category page to help you fine-tune your results to quickly find exactly what you are looking for.

Use the Search Filters to the right of the category description to apply one or more filters to the results listed at the bottom of the page. Pick a filter (or two), and click the “New Search” button, and the results at the bottom of the page will update almost immediately with your filters applied. You can filter from hundreds of documents to three of four within seconds! The link in the download column allows you to select the specific document you want to download.

Training and Enablement The SafeNet Partner Portal Training Path section gives you immediate access to a wide variety of SafeNet product, sales and technical training courses online. Covering products, new markets, and solution-based selling, you can access all SafeNet courses online and train at your own pace. To get started with the SafeNet online training materials click “> Training Paths” under Partner Enablement in the administrative navigation on the left hand side of the portal.

Training Path Content Map On the main Training Path landing page you’ll find an interactive graphic showing all SafeNet training currently available to you. We call this interactive graphic the training “subway map”. The content map is more than a visual display of available training content; you can use it as a navigation tool to browse and click through to the training you are interested in attending online. The map is also personalized to you, showing your current progress through the offered training courses.

The colored bars represent your available training paths. Click the “+” sign to expand that path and view the focuses and curricula available in that path. Each focus has a percentage indicator showing what percentage you’ve currently completed for that focus. The “stops” along the focus represent the curricula available to you in that focus. The “circle” graphic above each curriculum represent the current progress state for that

curriculum—incomplete (open circle) which means you haven’t started that curriculum yet, partially complete (half full circle) which means you’ve attended at least one course within that curriculum but haven’t yet finished all courses, and complete (full circle) which means you’ve attended and successfully completed all courses within that curriculum. To begin attending training online, click on the linked name for the curriculum you wish to start.

Attending Online Training Once you’ve clicked into a curriculum, you’ll find all the available courses or units available for you to attend online. At the top of the curriculum page, you’ll see a training map that represents the current curriculum you are looking at along with any related curricula along that curriculum’s path.

Below the map, you will see a list of all the training units within that curriculum. To visit a detailed view of any unit listed on the curriculum page just click the linked title for that unit and you will be taken to the unit’s detailed view.

9   SafeNet  Partner  Portal:  Partner  User  Guide

On the detailed unit page you’ll find the unit title, descriptions of the unit, and a link that will immediately start streaming the training content within your browser.

After attending the online training you may be asked to complete a skill assessment. The skill assessment helps determine your retention of the training materials and helps us improve and refine our training content. Some skill assessments may require a minimum number of correct responses to be considered successfully completed. If you attempt a skill assessment and do not successfully complete it you can attend the training again and retake the skill assessment.

Tracking Your Training Progress Your training progress is recorded and available for your review at any time on your personal portal user profile. To access your own user profile, simply click the link below your name at the top of the admin navigation column that reads “Your Profile” (right next to the logout link). Once you arrive at your user profile you’ll notice a tab at the top of the form labeled “Training”. Click that tab to see all the training available to you and your current progress through that training.

Each Path has a progress bar that fills in as you progess toward completion of training within that Path. Each curriculum has a “checkbox” next to it that is empty when no progress has been made on that curriculum. A curriculum that has been started but not yet completed is represented by a checkbox with a dash in it (as pictured above) and a curriculum that is fully complete is represented by a checked checkbox. In the example screenshot above, the “Authentication Product Portfolio” curriculum has many training units beneath it. The second from the top—“eToken PRO Anywhere – Unit 2” has been completed and is represented by a green checkmark next to the unit title. Grey checkmarks next to a unit title represent incomplete training units. On the Program Details tab of the company profile, you will find a series of pie graphs that track the combined progress of all the individual partners in a company. These graphs track the number of users who have completed a given path, how many have partially completed a path, and how many have not yet started a path.

Managing Your User Profile You can reach your user profile by clicking the link below your name at the top of the admin navigation column that reads “Your Profile” (right next to the logout link). Your profile contains your name, address, phone information, job function, and any certifications you may have earned through training. It also contains your personal training progress tracking information. Additionally, you can change your portal password by clicking the “Portal Settings” tab found at the top of your user profile form. Simply type in your new password, rekey it in the field provided, and click submit to commit your changes. Please remember that you need to push the submit button on each tab that you make changes to before moving to another tab or your changes will not be saved.

Managing Other User’s Profiles If you are an administrator for your company within the SafeNet Partner Portal then you have the ability to manage other user’s profiles as well as your own. You can update, delete, and create new users for your company as needed. To access the manage users screen click the “Portal Users” link in the administrative navigation.

Click the icon with the pencil graphic to update a user. Click the icon with the magnifying glass to view a user. Click the delete icon to remove a user from your company. You’ll typically only need to delete users when that person no longer works for your company and should not have access to the information contained in the SafeNet Partner Portal.

To create a new user click the “Add User” button above the search filters on the manage Portal Users screen. If you create a user this way (as opposed to having them self-register) please note that they will not receive an email introducing them to the portal with their temporary password; you will need to communicate to them what you set their password to. In most cases the preferred method of adding new users is to have them register themselves. See the Registering for Access section of this guide for more information on the registration process.

Managing Your Company Profile If you are an administrative user for your company, you have access to maintain your company’s profile within the SafeNet Partner Portal. Non-administrative users have

view-only access to your company profile and cannot make changes to the information contained within the profile.

Fields with red labels are required fields. You must complete all required fields in order to submit any updates made to you make to your company profile. Please remember to save your changes you make to each tab of your company profile before moving on to another tab—otherwise your changes will be lost.

We highly encourage you to keep your company profile up-to-date.
