Details: Please report to reception at Sir Henry Mitchell House – you will be met there and brought up to the MASH where small groups of professionals will be taken around the room to meet the staff and see how referrals and information are dealt with.
Please be aware that this is an Operational Hub and you will be seeing staff at work. This session therefore can only be open to professionals and not the wider general public.To book: Booking is not required.

Domestic abuse focussing on the Eastern European community and the LGBT community Time: 10.30am – 12.30pm workshops, followed by networking and lunch from 12.30pm –1pmVenue: Equity Partnership Training Room, 82 Grattan Road, Bradford, BD1 2LUPresenters: Aleksandra Marcinkowska and Jennifer AmbroseTarget audience: Open to all.Details: Domestic abuse disproportionately affects women more than men, Bradford Women’s Aid have
supported women for many years and have recognised the additional barriers to disclosure that some groups in our community face. Two of these groups are the Eastern European Community and the LGBT community. Our two specialist workers are going to present further information and awareness raising, with the aim of promoting awareness of these issues these groups face in relation to domestic abuse.

enough to coordinate and deliver the Bingo Session. • It would be good if participants have already had some safeguarding training. However, the
basics will be covered at the workshop.Details: Safeguarding Bingo is an interactive, informal workshop which is used to raise awareness of
different types of abuse and explain the ways in which abuse can be reported and stopped. The subject of safeguarding is very serious. Safeguarding Bingo is used to help service users

Enough’s Enough Programme Time: 3pm – 5pmVenue: Margaret McMillan Towers, Hockney Room, Princess Way, Bradford, BD1 1NNPresenters: Carla Richardson, Rubia Basharat and Sue WalkerTarget audience: Anyone working with families where child to parent violence or aggression is an issue.Details: Enough’s enough is an 8 week programme which is delivered to parents and young people in
two separate groups but which run at the same time. It is a mirrored programme with very similar messages delivered to both groups. Parents and
young people are brought together on sessions 4 and 8. It is aimed at helping address the issue of child to parent violence.
It is currently only available to families involved in the Youth offending team and Families First. However the hope is to role this out to more families under the targeted early help offer.

Safeguarding in Sport Time: 6.30pm – 8pmVenue: Shipley Town Hall, Kirkgate, Shipley, BD18 3EJPresenters: Gillian Brown and Paul EvansTarget audience: The session is aimed at community organisations and clubs that deliver sports activities
and will raise awareness of the roles and responsibilities of activity providers with regards to safeguarding both the participants and themselves. We will provide support and advice for organisations in order to develop safe practices and procedures, and will introduce some great tools and resources that are available for community sports clubs and organisations.

by learning disabled people when becoming parents.Details: Presentation of 4 scenes that participants watch and then suggest changes to, to see if they can
change the outcome. The performers then play out those changes, or if participants want to they can ‘step in’ and act out the scene themselves to see what would happen. Anna offers participants a unique and thought provoking insight into situations, whilst still having fun.

NightWatch – Empowering the Night Time Economy to recognise and respond to Child Sexual Exploitation – An Introduction to the Districts multi-agency CSE Hub Time: 12noon – 3pmVenue: Sir Henry Mitchell House, Manchester Road, Bradford, BD5 0QLPresenters: Marianne Wadsworth, Jill Hudson, PC Matt Catlow and other Hub MembersTarget audience: This session invites businesses and services within the night time economy to find out more about
the work of the districts CSE Multi-agency Hub. The night time economy boasts a vast, vibrant and diverse work force. It is made up of hoteliers,
bar staff, door supervisors, taxi drivers, take away or shop staff, petrol station attendants, refuse collectors, night bus drivers, paramedics, A&E staff... the list is huge.
The session aims to highlight how professionals from within the night time economy can play a crucial part in making Bradford a safer place for children and young people, and will invite attendees to join the NightWatch initiative.
Details: This session aims to inform businesses and services on how best to protect children and young people from sexual exploitation after dark, as we know that children and young people can be particularly vulnerable during the night time hours.

Staff that work within these different services and industries, can come along and find out more about the work of the CSE multi-agency Hub and develop an understanding of how the district is working together to safeguard children and young people from Child Sexual Exploitation.
The session will also explore why it is important for safeguarding to be part of ‘everyone’s business’ by highlighting how perpetrators can at times make use of locations and business premises in order to carry out their abusive activities (unbeknown to service providers).
The session will offer information, guidance and support and raise awareness of the possible signs of Child Sexual Exploitation, and hopefully empower attendees to play their part in recognising, reporting and disrupting Child Sexual Exploitation.

Working with Children in public care: an experiential perspectiveTime: 9am – 1pmVenue: Margaret MacMillan Tower, Princes Way, Bradford, BD1 1NNPresenters: Jenni Randall – a social worker for nearly 50 years and has a Lifetime Achievement Award
recognizing her work with children in the public care system. David Akinsanya – was in care as a child and is a journalist and broadcaster making largely social documentaries e.g. Find Me a Family for Channel 4 and Sad to be Gay (BBC2). He spends much of his time campaigning on behalf of young people. He is also a mentor to several young people.
Target audience: All staff working with children who are looked after, in particular those who have specific responsibility for children in residential settings and foster placements. Social workers, foster carers, residential staff, placement support workers, and linked health and education staff.
Details: Jenni was David’s social worker and they use their personal story and relationship to look at a range of issues relating to children in public care. It is a dynamic, personal story, the trainers are happy to explore even the difficult parts of a long term relationship and to respond to the specific areas of interest of the audience.
