PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE Next week, students will be back to full time, onsite learning and I have to say, the teachers and I can’t wait to see all our students back at school. Over the past months, we have missed them all terribly and we really want to get back to making those connections and helping them progress on their learning journeys. I would like to once again say thank you to all our parents who have put in an amazing effort to assist your children to learn from home. The staff and I have been blown away by your support of our school, through not only your greatly appreciated kind words, but also your dedication in working with our teachers to ensure your child was learning at home. I cannot thank you all enough. I would also like to give a shout out to all the staff at GEPS. Every single one of them has gone above and beyond to ensure our students were well supported while learning from home. The way they embraced every challenge that they faced has been truly a remarkable and every single one is a credit to NSW Public Education. Over the next few weeks we will be focussing on ensuring students adjust back to school life successfully. This will mean a focus on our PBL values of being a safe, respectful learner. We will re-teach our school routines and expected behaviours. We will also have a focus on the core elements of literacy and numeracy. I understand some of you and your children will be feeling more anxious than usual at this time. That is perfectly fine and understandable. Please use the resources I have already posted on Facebook and our website to assist you with caring for your own and your child’s mental health.

Canteen Thank you to the P&C and Patty Thompson for agreeing to reopen the canteen. From next week the canteen will be open from Monday-Friday for both lunch orders and over the counter purchasing. The canteen will run on minimal volunteers to ensure social distancing among the adults. This means we are looking for volunteers on Thursday and Friday only at this point. If you would like to volunteer, you can contact the canteen manager, Patty Thompson on 0413 959 753.

Kind Regards Nathan Forbes Principal

CLASS MESSAGE FROM 3/4L

3/4L Home Learning update

Miss Langworthy is so proud of 3/4L’s effort in completing their home learning. Students have adjusted quickly and have been working extremely hard to complete all set tasks to the best of their ability. Students have enjoyed using Zoom to participate in number talks, math and vocabulary lessons. Another highlight has been seeing all the student’s beautiful artworks uploaded onto SeeSaw.

It was wonderful to see so many students return on their scheduled day in Week 3, excited to see their friends and ready to learn.

Keep up the fantastic work 3/4L!
