    PURPOSE & BACKGROUNDIn developing countries like Pakistan, safety is

    not usually approached as a key priority during

    construction project life cycle. Researchsuggests that there is a dire need to provide

    safety precedence over other traditional

    project success parameters (scope, cost, time,

    quality, etc.) for sustainable industry

    improvement. This workshop is the first of a

    series of workshops aimed at Sustaining

    Accident Free Environment (SAFE) in the

    Architecture, Engineering & Construction (AEC)

    Industry of Pakistan. The workshop series has an

    inherited key goal of continual movement

    towards achieving zero accidents.ABOUT THE WORKSHOPThe workshop is organized to:

    Benchmark the current Safety Performance

    of the AEC Industry of Pakistan.

    Provide Training on Occupational Health and

    Safety (OHS) to AEC professionals.

    Discuss accident investigation strategies &

    proper reporting procedures.

    Familiarize audience with international safety

    practices.

    Help professionals develop improved safety

    culture at their work places.

    Develop the capacity to manage OHS

    Prof Syed M. Ahmed from ECUhas over 26 years of education,

    research and industry experience. He is an OSHA certified trainer

    and has been disbursing education related to construction

    safety for the last 20 years in the USA and around the globe.

    Prof. Jimmie Hinze is Professor and Director of the Fluor Programfor Construction Safety, Rinker School of Building Construction at

    University of Florida. He has over 35 years of experience in the

    field of construction safety and is considered to be one of themost eminent global figure in the field of construction safety.

    Prof. Sherif Mohamed is the Head and Professor, Department of

    Civil Engineering, Griffith School of Engineering, Griffith University,

    Australia. He has over 25 years of experience in the field of

    construction safety and is considered to be among the most

    active researchers in the field of construction safety in Australia

    with significant global contribution.

    Prof. Sarosh H. Lodi is a Professor and Dean, Faculty of CivilEngineering and Architecture, NED University of Engineering &

    Technology. He has over 26 years of experience in the field ofcivil engineering with exclusive research in construction

    management, disaster management & structural engineering in

    Pakistan and around the globe.

    Engr. Dr. Ikram H. Siddiqi is the Chairman/ Chief Executive of

    Muslim Constructors (Pvt.) Limited. He has over 55 years ofConstruction Experience in Private Sector including heavy civil

    engineering works, educational institution buildings, hotels,

    housing, infrastructure works and industrial projects. He has been

    the founder and instrumental member of various regional and

    local premier engineering bodies. He has received numerous
