Introductionn By 2050, agriculture production must
double to support 9 billion people
n In 2003, African Leaders pledged to
invest at least 10% of their budget
resources in agriculture while aiming to
achieve at least 6% agricultural growth
per year

Introduction …w 2014 was declared the year of agriculture
by the African Union
w Studies show that investing in
agriculture could lift 85 million people
out of extreme poverty by 2024
w Agriculture is the main stay of most
economies in the region

States to have their food and agro-products to gain access to the regionaland international markets
