SACS No Transportation ZonesUpdate: 2014
Goal
• To align and update SACS “No Transportation Zones” Or NTZ’s
Why?
• Fiscal Responsibility: At a time when many districts are planning to eliminate all transportation services because of budget cuts, SACS is being fiscally proactive and more efficient
• Fairness: We enforce No Transportation Zones at three of our elementary schools
• Fitness: Research supports that when parents enable students to walk/ ride a bike to school, they are healthier, calmer and more alert
No Transportation Zone Guidelines
• Elementary: one mile• Middle School: 1.5 miles• High School: 1.5 miles
*Guidelines based upon common practices
