Greetings in the Lord! Let’s talk snow…perhaps not a popular topic. But it is necessary. First of all, we are blessed to have Weidenbach’s care for the parish parking lot in Sacred Heart, Parkston. Thank you, thank you! Last year Mark Huether took care of our sidewalks and did a great job. Thank you to Mark!
This year Mark is unable to do that job. So I am putting out an appeal for help with maintaining the sidewalks around our property. We have good equipment, with a protective hood. It would be ideal to have several individuals step forward so that it is not overwhelming to one person. Mike Thury and Jeff Murtha are willing to show an interest-ed person the equipment and answer questions. Please contact me or the office. We know that snow has already made a showing so I ask the parish to assist me and our community so that we may serve God and Neighbor through the winter months. Thank you for your pastoral love for our church.

Happy Birthday to Gerald Herman & Willard Schoenfelder celebrating 90 years!
A Family Perspective by Bud Ozar “Advise” books abound on marriage and parenting. Jesus tells us in today’s gospel the real secret: satisfying relationships depend on how well we sacrifice our needs to serve others. It is not about “getting,” it’s about “giving” ourselves. If you feel like you are a servant to your children and spouse, then you are doing it right.

We are in need of Youth Rally drivers. This year the youth rally has been split into multiple locations in-stead of just one and our youth will be attending two of those. SSPP and SH youth will be attending November 3rd in Sioux Falls and November 4th in Huron. We are looking for volunteers to help drive the youth to either of the locations. If you are interested please contact the SSPP or SH DRE. We thank you in advance!
The annual Christmas program is approaching quick-ly and we are looking for volunteers to help make this pro-gram happen. We need volunteers to help out with directing, music, props, lights, costumes, etc… If you are at all interested in being part of this team or have any questions please let Katie know.
For the time-being, CYO and other youth ministry “extras,” including the Christmas program, diocesan youth rally, serv-ing at The Banquet, etc. are being put on-hold, as we navigate what the future looks like with a very part-time DRE. Please contact Katie if you are interested in taking on any of these projects as a volunteer.

Farmer's Prayer to Saint Joseph
O glorious St. Joseph,
foster father of Jesus, you did provide for the Holy Family.
We commit to your protection all our crops and farm
industries. Deign, we beseech you, to intercede in our behalf
with Almighty God, Who rules the seasons,
so that our fields being safe from pests and favored by
the weather may yield abundant crops that will allow us to supply the
wants of life. Thus freed from earthly worries may we after your exam-
ple apply all our thoughts to eternal life. We beseech you to instill a
love of the land into the hearts of our youth for their own salvation and
that of Christian unity so that we may all share hereafter
in the same blissful life you enjoy in heaven. Amen.
