ST. VINCENT de PAUL
As always, Sacred Heart Church and the volunteers at SVDP are so very grateful for the generosity of you, our parishioners.
Your Sacred Heart SVDP Mission currently services over 2,230 families within our community. Within these fam-
ilies are many children and, sick, elderly or disabled peo-ple . We work closely and share many expenses with Good Samaritans as we strive to help them with the basic needs of food, shelter, water, electricity, health care, etc. Nearly one half of the children in our public school sys-tem qualify for a free or reduced lunch during the school year. The poverty level in Rockport is very high.
We occasionally have a need for non-monetary help from volunteers who would be willing to provide expertise in basic car mechanics, appliance repair, general housing repairs, etc. If you would like to make a huge difference in someone’s life and have a little time to share, please consider helping on a one-time basis in these situations. We are all blessed with the awareness that our time, talent or treasure can be shared with our brothers and sisters in need.
Remember the words of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ: “Whatsoever you do for the least of my brothers you do unto me”
If you can help, please call Pat Lippke at 361-729-7965.
