Upcoming Dates
Dear Parents and Carers,
On Sunday we pause to remember fathers ‐ our fathers, our children’s fathers, grandfathers and what great role models and givers of love fathers are called to be. Let us give thanks for the men who give of their best every day to cherish and support their children. Have a wonderful Fathers Day all the fathers of Sacred Heart.
To celebrate and say thank you to our fathers we are having Mass on Friday at 12.30pm. Our Year One classes will lead Mass. Mass will be followed by a sausage sizzle lunch for the fathers. Hope you can join us.
The staff reflec on day, led by Andrea Dean was a valuable day of learning enabling us all to focus on our mission as educators in a Catholic School. We focussed on being more a en ve to the presence of God in daily life and how we can help others be conscious of this.
Please be mindful of these important upcoming dates in the life of the school: Fete on 25th October School Musical ‐ ‘Lights, Camel, Ac on’ on 22nd November at 6pm at Kildare. An evening not to be missed with all our students expected to par cipate in this wonderful opportunity.
Prepara on for the recep on of the Sacrament of the Eucharist has begun in earnest with families a ending commitment Masses in the parish over recent weekends. Please be mindful of these children and families as they prepare for this next important step in their journey of faith in the Catholic tradi on.
Not long now un l our Year Five and Year Six students par cipate in their excursions to Sydney and Canberra respec vely. The excursion compliments the teaching and learning opportuni es that are being provided in their History, Religion and Geography units
There have been some occasions reported to us of children misusing social media. We highlight this to heighten awareness of all parents regarding the close supervision of children whilst using technology. We will be forwarding each week a support brochure via Compass and email no fica on. Hoping you find the material helpful. Please find a ached to this week’s newsle er our first issue “Social Media Tips for Parents”
Our theme for the coming weeks at Sacred Heart is ‘kind words and kind ac ons’. Staff are affirming students for the many occasions that they no ce respect being shown in this way and following up on the mes when inappropriate language or hur ul ac ons are engaged in. Respect is the key to healthy posi ve rela onships and a happy school community that focuses on quality learning for life.
Mindful Student Awards will be presented at the end of term gathering at 2.15pm on Friday 27th September (final day of term). This will be followed by our annual staff student netball game.
Wishing all our dads a happy fathers day, enjoy the day with your families.

MORNING DROP OFF IMPORTANT
The pick up/drop off zone is NOT for parking and walking children to class. It is the same procedure as the afternoon which is to stop, drop your child off and drive off straight away. This helps the carpark to operate more smoothly. Thank you.
