A Stewardship Thought “Using God's Gifts, Doing God's Work”
You are looking at a painting by Eugene Burnand, in which the Apostles Peter and John are running to the tomb of Jesus after Mary Magdalene has told them that Jesus’ body is missing, (John 20:1-10). The artist has captured a look on their faces that is, literally, incredible. Running side by side, the younger John has his hands folded, as if in prayer. As if John is praying, “Lord, please let this development be from you and not just some grave robber’s cruel hoax”. The artist has painted the older Peter as confused and wondering what this might mean. As we know they will find the tomb empty and are left to ponder what this all about.
This Easter, like those first Apostles, we, too are left to wonder what it means that his tomb is empty. We are left to pray about what God has done for us in raising Jesus from the dead. If we believe, as the Apostles eventually did, that the risen Christ is our hope and salvation, then today we celebrate an event which has changed human history. God has intervened in our lives beyond words. The only response that fits is: “Alleluia” !!!
“He went about doing good and healing all those oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.” ~Acts 10:38 On this Easter Sunday, open your hearts to receive God’s love, mercy and forgiveness. God is love and we are made in His image and likeness. Let our lives reflect His light to others. Pray for guidance on how to live your life and give thanks for all that He has given you.
HAPPY EASTER! Happy Easter! Or as most other languages prefer: Blessed Pasch—Passover! Pasqua, Pascua, Páscoa, Pâques! Israel’s Passover through the Red Sea to the Promised Land! Jesus’ Passover through the Cross to resurrection! Our catechumens’ Passover at the Vigil Mass, and ours once upon a time, through Baptism’s waters to our family’s Eucharist! Welcome, everybody! As someone once said of the Catholic Church, “Here comes everybody!” So in this Jubilee of Mercy, we make our own Saint John Chrysostom’s Easter welcome from fourteen hundred years ago: “Let everyone enjoy this radiant feast! You who fasted from Lent’s beginning, and you who didn’t fast at all, rejoice! The table’s richly set! Come, take from it, everybody, no worries, no embarrassment! All of you, taste the banquet of faith! Enjoy the feast of forgiveness! Let no one grieve for having sinned again and again: pardon has risen from the tomb!” Happy Easter! Blessed Pasch! THURSDAY LUNCH & SCRIPTURE
Thursday Lunch & Scripture Class is up and running! Class is from 11:30am– 12:30pm, and meets in the Social Hall, Room #101. Galatians and Romans by Brendan Byrne is the book selected for this session. A study guide is also used. Books are available in the church office, or at class. The cost is $16 per set. Pre Cana Workshop The next Marriage Workshop is Saturday,
May 11, 2019. This is a requirement for couples planning to marry in the church. Please call the

A Celebrate Recovery testimony is a personal story of struggle and victory presented by someone who has completed the CR 12 Step program. Hearing
someone’s testimony lets us know that we are not alone with our burdens. This Tuesday we will from Evan Brown from Southside Baptist, Warner Robins. Come out and listen! Don’t come because you have a problem. Come because you think you don’t.

Music at the Mount MDS is entering its fifth season of Music at the Mount, our community outdoor concert series that showcases up-and-coming music artists. Anointing of the Sick On the second Friday of each month we celebrate the Sacrament of the
anointing of the sick at the 9am Mass. Those who are elderly, or those who have a serious or chronic illness are
invited to receive this Sacrament.
VIRTUS is required for ALL employees and volunteers working with children. For class times and more information, please go to

Please join us for the FIRST meeting of the Catholic War Veterans of the United States. Membership is open to baptized Catholics, male or female, who have served on Active Duty for a period of at least 90 days, in the Reserve Component, or National Guard, or are currently on Active Duty in any branch of the United State Armed Forces. BABY BOTTLE DRIVE Our Annual Baby Bottle Drive, sponsored by Friends for LIFE to benefit The Kolbe Center for Life, has begun. Please take a baby bottle (or use any plastic bottle or ziploc bag), fill it with coins, dollar bills, or a check payable to The Kolbe Center for Life, and bring it to Mass on Mother's Day weekend, May 11th/12th. Bottles may also be returned to the GIFT SHOP in the Narthex or to the CHURCH OFFICE. Help us save money by returning ALL bottles, whether filled or not, by the end of May so we can reuse them next year. The Kolbe Center for Life is our deanery's pro-life center and is located in Macon. They provide many services to promote a culture of life, and this past year they were instrumental in preventing the Summit Group abortion providers from opening a clinic on Walnut Street in Macon. The proposed site will soon be the new office for The Kolbe Center! They are currently renovating the existing building on the site, and hope to move there in July. Let's be as generous as possible to assist with these renovations as well as support their efforts to help women with unplanned pregnancies. Your support helps them help these women choose life!

MENSAJE DE PADRE FRED Tengo una copia de un cuadro en mi oficina de los apóstoles Pedro y Juan corriendo hacia la tumba
de Jesús después de que María Magdalena les dijo que el cuerpo de Jesús está perdido (Juan 20: 1-10). El artista ha capturado una mirada en sus caras que es, literalmente, increíble. Corriendo lado a lado, el joven Juan tiene las manos juntas, como si estuviera rezando. Como si Juan estuviera orando: "Señor, por favor, deja que todo esto que está pasando sea tuyo y no solo un engaño cruel de un ladrón grave". El artista ha pintado al viejo Pedro como confundido y preguntándose qué podría significar esto. Como sabemos, encontrarán la tumba vacía y quedarán para reflexionar sobre todo esto. Esta Pascua, como esos primeros apóstoles, nos queda preguntarnos qué significa, que su tumba está vacía. No dejes de orar por lo que Dios ha hecho por nosotros al resucitar a Jesús de entre los muertos. Si creemos, como lo hicieron eventualmente los apóstoles, que el Cristo resucitado es nuestra esperanza y salvación, entonces hoy celebramos un evento que ha cambiado la historia humana. Dios ha intervenido en nuestras vidas más allá de lo que las palabras pueden decir. La única respuesta que cabe es: "Aleluya" !!!
