Heavenly Father, We pray today for all our children who have just begun a new school year. We ask you, Lord, to keep all of them safe throughout the year. They are the future of our community. May they advance in knowledge and have an enjoyable and fulfilling experience this academic year. Help them to grow in their love of you and become young men and women of whom their parents and com-munity can be very proud. We ask this through Christ Our Lord. Amen.

We wish all of our children and

young people much success and

happiness in the coming year.

TRUST Keys hold great significance for those who carry them. They represent the trust and authority of the own-er when given to another person. We may give our house key to a trusted friend to take care of our ma ers while we are away. We may give keys to someone responsible for maintaining or working in a par cular building. Keys to vehicles are given to people who have proven them-selves responsible drivers. The readings today focus on this kind of trust—the trust that conveys authority and responsibility. In the first reading, the symbol is specifi-cally that of a key; but the second reading and the Gos-pel also speak of trust and leadership as they refer to the earthly church that Jesus established. REMINDER—Transition to the Church

Bishop Estevez con nues the dispensa on from the obliga on to a end Sunday Mass Masses are on Saturday at 5:30 pm and Sunday at 8:00 and 10:30 am. (NO SUNDAY EVENING MASS AT THIS TIME). THE SAME SYSTEM WE HAVE BEEN USING REMAINS IN EFFECT—wearing masks and social distanc-ing. It is possible to watch the livestream at the 8:00 Sunday Mass in your car in the parking lot and to receive com-munion after Mass. Daily Mass con nues to be live-streamed at 8:00 am. Confessions are held on Saturdays from 4:30 to 5:00 pm in the church. All other sacraments are by arrange-ment. Call the office to indicate which Mass you will attend and how many will be attending. Masks are required. You must observe the spacing shown in the pews. If we can accomplish this safely, we can remain in the church. If not, we will stop having Mass there. This practice will continue until Bishop Estévez advises otherwise. Thank you for helping our community stay safe. FINANCIAL PEACE UNIVERSITY
