Data center update - Broadcom’s environment is changing

What Why How When

Broadcom’s Software as a Service is migrating Clarity PPM SaaS customers from the current data centers to a Google Cloud Platform (GCP) data center.

As a world class SaaS provider, Broadcom is enhancing the service to leveraging modern SaaS capabilities.

Customers can expect a true SaaS service including frictionless upgrades, improved performance, and automatic patch application.

Seamless experience, with a ‘high touch’ transition service’.

Direct engagement with Clarity PPM engineering.

PostgreSQL certified data, customization, and integration conversion.

The transition to the GCP data center will begin January 2020 & conclude June 2020

• To ensure a seamless experience, Broadcom will provide a ‘high touch’ service to support the transition of each customer to the GCP data center.

• Each customer will be assigned a single point of contact (POC) to ensure a smooth transition. The POC will be responsible for rapid response to customer questions or remediation.

• Any transition-related issues will be escalated, by your POC, directly to the Clarity engineering team who will triage and remediate

Activities managed by Clarity PPM engineering

Week 1

Prepare ‘run-books’ documenting customer-specific data & customizations based upon the pipeline schedule

(contingent upon required customer approvals).

The run book will include information supporting the automatic conversion of customizations including:

• GEL scripts with SQL, NSQL Queries, NSQL Lookups, Jaspersoft (Studio Reports, Studio inputs, Ad hoc views, & Domains), and Integrations

Week 1 For each customer, a single non-production environment will be established in the GCP data center.

• Customer environment will be upgraded to 15.7.1 using a copy of a production database.

• The supporting database will be migrated from Oracle to PostgreSQL.

• Customer data will be converted to be PostgreSQL compatible.

• Customer customizations will be converted to PostgreSQL compatible.

• Environment performance will be equal or better than the CoLo data center.

Week 2 thru 4 A dedicated team will triage, remediation & deliver solutions for all (non-production) customer-reported issues.

• The customer run-book will be updated accordingly.

Week 5 A single production environment will be established in the GCP data center.

Week 6 Shut down legacy CoLo data center environment

– GCP regularly undergoes security compliance verification.

• Clarity PPM Services SOC report– The GCP-based Clarity PPM service is planned to be included in the current

SOC audit reporting period.

– A report that includes the GCP-based Clarity PPM service is scheduled to be

available January 2020.

– If a customer would like to obtain a copy of a GCP-based Clarity PPM SaaS

service SOC 1 and SOC 2 report, please contact your account representative.
