Fitting instructions for the
SAAB 900 Classic Decor Strip Kit
Front bumperThere is no need to remove the bumper!
1. Remove the front side-panels
2. To remove the old decor strip:
• Compress and remove the spring clip at the outer end of the bumper
• Pull the old decor strip free of the outer end
• Using a screwdriver under the end of the strip, flex the slot at the inner end of the bumper to free the retaining rivet and pull the old decor strip free
3. To fit the new decor strip:
• Push the riveted end of the new decor strip into the slot at the inner end of the bumper
• Push the other end through the slot at the outer end of the bumper
• Insert the long lug on the spring clip into the hole in the decor strip
• Compress the spring clip and insert the other lug into the hole in the bumper
4. Refit the front side-panels

Rear bumperThere is no need to remove the bumper!
1. Remove the rear side-panels
2. To remove the old decor strip:
• Compress and remove the spring clip at each end of the bumper
• Pull the old decor strip free of the bumper
3. To fit the new decor strip:
• Insert the end of the strip into the slot in one end of the bumper
• Insert the long lug on the spring clip into the hole in the decor strip
• Insert the other lug into the hole in the bumper
• At the other end of the bumper, insert the end of the strip into the slot in the bumper
• Pull the strip through against spring pressure
• Insert the long lug on the spring clip into the hole in the decor strip
• Compress the spring clip and insert the other lug into the hole in the bumper
4. Refit the rear side-panels

Side panels1. Remove the side-panel
2. To remove the old decor strip:
• Compress and remove the spring clip
• Pull the decor strip through and release it from the small clip at the other end
3. To fit the new decor strip:
• Insert one end of strip into the slot in the panel and hook it onto the small clip (note there are two different small clips, one for left-hand panels and one for right-hand panels)
• Insert the other end of the strip into the slot into the panel
• Insert the long lug in the spring clip into the hole in the strip
• Compress the spring clip and insert the other lug into the hole in the panel
• Refit the side-panel
