ATP 613 – [MARYBOROUGH]

The current renewal ATP 613 commenced on 1 April 2007 for a period of 12 years expiring 31 March 2019 (1 yr & 8 months left) The current issues with ATP 613 arose when the holder failed to carry out proposed activities in the Initial Work Program (IWP) (12 proposed wells) The holder has conducted a 23km seismic survey and drilled a well since 2007 (10 years ago) The holder provided that NT issues and land access have limited the exploration and drilling operations to comply with the IWP To date, there is no foreseeable solution proposed by the holder to advance its exploration activity in the ATP area

Dealings

o At the end of the initial work program period on 3 February 2011, the holder submitted a Later Work Program (LWP) to the Department. After assessing the LWP, it was recommended to refuse the approval of the LWP and take a non-compliance action due to the shortfall of completed activities

o The Department contacted the holder on 10 December 2013 to notify them of impending non-compliance action regarding the failure to complete activities in the initial work program

o On 4 December 2014 the holder lodged a special amendment (SA) to reduce the work commitments of the initial work program

o Both LWP and subsequent SA have not been decided, or non-compliance action has not been taken either.
