BatteriesThis appliance operates on two 1.5 voltbatteries. For
best performance, usealkaline manganese batteries (type LR
6, AM 3, MN 1500 or size AA alkaline,e. g. Duracell). These
batteries providea shaving capacity of approx. 60 minutes.
Slide the battery cover0in thedirection indicated by the arrow,
thenopen. Insert batteries9with the polesin the direction marked.
Close thebattery cover and slide it back to start
position.Note: Never leave batteries in theshaver for long
periods of timewhen the shaver is not in use
(danger of leakage). Take emptybatteries out of the shaver
imme-diately. To protect the environment,dispose of empty batteries
at your retail
store or at appropriate collection sitesaccording to national or
local regulations.
ShavingTurn the twisting protective cap1(a)until it clicks in
place as shown (b). Toswitch the shaver on, push the
on/offswitch2upward to the on position.
Longhair trimmerUse the pop-out longhair trimmer6for exact
trimming of side burns andmoustaches (d).
To operate, push up the switch7tosetting trimmer.
Cleaning and maintenance
To experience the best possible shaveyou should clean the shaver
after eachuse:1. Press foil frame release buttons5
and remove the foil frame4(e).2. Tap the foil frame gently
against a
flat surface, then clean the cutter-block3thoroughly with the
brush8as shown (f). To remove the
cutterblock twist through 90 andpull off (g). When replacing it,
makesure both bars snap into position.
3. Place the foil frame over the
cutterblock and gently push downuntil it clicks back into
position.
After cleaning, turn the twisting
protective cap1
180 to cover theshaving head.In this position, the on/off
switchis automatically locked to avoidaccidental operation of the
shaver(e. g. when travelling).
