Citizenship Points: I will be keeping a grade on behavior this year. Student will be awarded 10 points every week for citizenship. You can lose citizenship points by not turning in homework, having a bad attitude, failure to conduct yourself in a professional manner, etc..
Bathroom: o Students should use the bathroom before or after class, there is plenty of
time. You can use the bathroom during class time this year; however, it will cost you citizenship points for the day.
Extra Credit and Late Work:
I am a firm believer in having your work in on time. In life, no one is exempt from “the due date”. Since there is a penalty in life for being late there should be a penalty in school. Therefore, in most situations, I will not accept late work. With that said, I understand that there are situations that come up in life that take precedence over other priorities. Students may earn extra credit once a month. If you forgot to do an assignment or you got busy you can use this option. To earn the extra credit you must find an engineer or inventor that made an impact on the world and right a one page paper (12 pt font, Times New Roman, no double spaces, 1in Margins) about that scientist. What did they discover? What was there life like? Any interesting stories about them?Make Up Work: If you are sick or miss a day, you have 2 days to complete the work you missed. If you know you’re going to be gone be sure to get with me before to get the work you will miss. If you can’t get with me before, be sure to get the assignments the day you come back. For each day you forget to get the work, I’ll deduct percentage points from the assignments.
Tests and Quizzes: Tests-All of my tests will be on online. The format of the tests and how they are conducted may very. For example, one test may include creating a newsletter or PowerPoint presentation. Quizzes: All quizzes will be on online as well. However, all quizzes will involve question and answer types of content. There will be no quiz that will involve students creating anything. **All tests/quizzes are weighted higher than class work**
Google Classroom:
Most of the work that will be conducted in class will be done through google classroom. Here you will find our online textbook, lesson videos to be watched, assignments and quizzes. Students are encouraged to send messages and respond to questions (Google classroom has a news feed or stream where students can comment and respond to each other).
To set up your google classroom account the teacher either needs to invite the student, or the student can enter the class code to join the classroom.
