This month’s word of “Word-Association” is “Opportunity.” This is a word that covers a lot of ground. This month though, I use it to direct your attention to the calendared items. In three of our churches this month there is the wonderful opportunity to grow, be challenged, and worship. At both Northside and Parkway there will be revival services and at Community a Bible conference. I hope that you will take advantage of these opportunities to be revived and refreshed. And then also a prayer opportunity. Pastor Scott Talbert and his wife Laurie along with a dear friend of mine from Northeast Texas, Keith Hall are going to Africa on a Mission Trip. Please pray for them and this great opportunity. Scott and Laurie served as missionaries there 20 years ago! Another opportunity of both prayer and giving, along with the Administrative Team, I have the dream of us having an “Event Truck.” What is that you ask? A box truck that is filled with games and other items that allow a church to unpack on their property everything needed to throw a party! A block party, a Sunday School kick-off party, a VBS party – an event to draw a crowd, have a lot of fun and share the Gospel with your community. It’s a big opportunity, somewhere in the $15,000 – $20,000 prices range! But what a great opportunity it is. Would you pray with us about this? Ask the Lord to provide the money. This truck will be a great opportunity for all of our churches to reach more people for Jesus. Opportunities, they are all around us if we will look and be sensitive to the Holy Spirit to show them to us.
