Expedia's website once had an optional field on their checkout page that said "Company." Many customers were confused by this, and thought that Expedia was asking for their bank's information. Once Expedia realized this, they removed the field.

The result? An additional profit of $12 million per year.

So ask yourself if you really need to know the size of their business right now, or the square footage of their backyard, or the age of their children. 2. Sign them up for a newsletter.

I've met with potential clients in the past who decided they could not afford my business's services. But because I still stayed connected to them, they ended up referring clients who could afford our services.

Introduce yourself - I've talked previously about the importance of putting a bit of yourself if any content you produce. The idea behind this point is that you take this a step further and add a page/post/section about yourself. Just doing this small thing can create a great personal connection that your audience will be sure to appreciate.

Put your audience first - While it's true that you are the one with the talent and expertise who has slaved away for countless hours creating, editing, re editing and distributing your content you are precisely nothing without your audience. If you fail to put them first, you'll fail to be interesting.

Being consistently interesting can be a challenge. Ensuring that the content you create is of interest to your prospective audience will make sure that they come back again and again. And bring their friends.

It goes without saying that if no one finds what you're doing interesting they won't stick around.

So what can you do? How can you "be interesting?"

Be Unique: What can you do that others can't? I touched on this topic in the free content creation ebooklet, but it's definitely worth mentioning again. If you can either produce something that others can in turn use as a tool to communicate there own point they'll definitely pay attention. Similarly, if you can solve a problem in an unexpected yet useful way you'll certainly get noticed for it.

Be your own guinea pig - 99% of people online are trying to tell you something important but not many are DOING something of importance. Take your own advice. Practice what you preach. If you can show evidence of you getting fantastic results with your own methods you'll reap the benefits of truly standing out from most everyone else. And people will want to talk about it.

I was talking to some people in my list recently about why they are not making money as quickly as they should be. And I uncovered the five biggest barriers to their first dollar. As you read the article, ask yourself if you are facing the same barriers.

5. Lack of focus - Marketers who don't succeed in the first 24 hours share the same problem. They are not focused on their goal and mission to make money fast. Instead, they might put in some effort at the beginning and start to focus on the distractions that come along.

If you want to make money fast, you need to take massive action, persist no matter how tough it gets, focus on nothing but value for your customers, build valuable contacts constantly and focus on your goal.

I understand how tough it is for newbies who try to make money online and fail miserably at it. They lose money, they lose time, they lose confidence. In short, they lose everything they believe in.

It becomes harder and harder for them to make money online as time passes solely because they lose confidence that they can do it. Almost every top marketer online has been there. I have been there even though I am not a guru.

I think many people have the misconception that what works for one person works for everyone if they were to try out the method. I think this is not possible because it relies on other external factors as to whether you are able to make money from the method or not.

Regardless of what it is that you may like, I believe that you have to be passionate about what you are doing and have faith that it will work out for you the right way at the end of the day.

If you are passionate about what you do, half the game has been won.

If you have faith in what you do and that what you do will eventually work, then it will at the end.

But, you need to have guts of steel in order to take failure and not give up at the first sight of defeat. Remember, you can never fail as long as you don't give up. If you give up, it is GAME OVER. But as long as you do not give up, you are still in the game!

It took me several years of giving up before I decided that it was not the way to success. I could not give up and still expect to win. That was not the way that it was done. That was not the way the success stories in the industry made it.

And so can you! You can make it as long as you believe in yourself and what you do. Find a good mentor and get their advice.

It can sometimes feel like an insurmountable challenge trying to figure out how to create wealth. When you come online you are often times bombarded with opportunity after opportunity and it may seem that there is no answer that nothing really "fits" well for you but there is a way for you to learn how to create the wealth that you desire and deserve for yourself and for your family.

It starts by first understanding your needs

The first step towards wealth creation is to understand what your needs are. These are your internal and most basic needs and it is essential for you to understand what those needs are in order for you to start to attract the wealth that you are seeking. The reason I say this is because if you don't understand what your needs are it will be difficult for you to create your goals. Without goals, you will not be able to reach the level that you want to reach because you will be continually looking for the next best way to get there.

Having goals

Having goals helps you to remain focused and it keeps you on target for creating your wealth. When I first started my blog my goal was to get my blog up and running and to post to it 5 times a week. I started writing and continued to write it in at least 5 times per week. I reached my first goal. My next goal was to monetize the blog and I achieved that goal. The next goal I set was also a small one and I achieved that one as well. The goals that I did not achieve in the original time frame that I had set out I went back and added the goal again as a new goal for me to focus on.

Never accept failure as an option

The next step towards creating wealth is to never accept failure as an option. As long as you are continually worked towards your goals you will not have time to accept failure because it simply doesn't exist. As I mentioned before, if I had a goal that I didn't achieve I never looked at it as a failure but rather I would place it back onto my goal sheet as a new goal for me to reach and I continued to do that over and over again until I would reach that goal. This meant that for me I was always reaching my goals and there was never a goal I didn't reach because any goal that was not reached the first time was simply added back on the list as a new goal.

Start a home based business

The next and most obvious method you can use to create wealth would be to start your own home based business. Of course this is not always as easy as it may sound hence the reason it is listed last on my list of things that you need in order to create wealth. Once you have a good understanding of the other principles it will be easier for you to make the best decision you can make regarding the home business that you choose to start. You have all the tools that you need to become successful. You don't need programs, software, systems, or any of that, all you need is the right mindset and understanding of what you are trying to achieve and you will achieve it. Some of the most successful people I know never bothered with any programs, software, or systems, they build their business by setting daily, weekly and monthly goals and kept going even when others may have accepted defeat. This is the key towards creating the wealth that you deserve and you can reach your financial goals.
