The Grade B listed building was originally the entrance to Patrick Thompson’s, one of Edinburgh’s finest department stores (known as PT’s to the locals) in 1906.
Now restored to its former glory, the hotel is ideal for business and leisure guests, offering an outstanding choice of accommodation with upscale amenities, fine dining and state-of-the-art meeting rooms.

Situated on North Bridge, Hilton Edinburgh Carlton is perfectly located in the heart of the city centre.
Located within easy walking distance of a myriad of city centre attractions, from the famous Royal Mile which it overlooks to the beautiful St. Giles’ Cathedral, which is just a four minute walk away.
The hotel is also a short 10 minute walk from Edinburgh Castle and the lively Princes Street. Waverley Railway Station is adjacent to the hotel, just a 3 minute stroll for guests.

DIRECTIONS
FROM WAVERLEY STATION BY FOOTIf arriving from Waverley Station by foot, come out of the station and turn left onto Market Street and then turn right onto Scotsman Steps and take the stairs. Turn right on North Bridge and the hotel will be on your left.
FROM CITY CENTRE BY FOOTEdinburgh city centre is just 0.5 miles from the hotel. If on foot, walk towards St. Andrew Square from George Street and turn right onto St Andrew Square.
Continue onto South St. David Street and take a left onto Princes Street. From Princes Street take the first right onto North Bridge/A7. The hotel will be on your left.
FROM CITY CENTRE BY CARIf travelling by car from George Street, drive towards St Andrew Square and take a left onto North St. David Street.
Turn right onto Queen Street and follow the road.
At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Leith Street/ A900 and use the right lane to stay on Leith Street/A900. Turn right onto Waterloo Place/A1 and then left onto North Bridge/A7. The hotel will be on the left.
FROM EDINBURGH INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT BY CAREdinburgh international Airport is just 8.4 miles away. Exit the roundabout onto Eastfield Road and at the next roundabout, take the 1st exit to stay on Eastfield Road then stay slightly left and merge onto Glasgow Road/A8.
After almost 4 miles turn right onto Balgreen Road and at the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Stevenson Road.
Continue onto Westfield Road and then straight onto West Approach Road turning right eventually onto Lothian Road/A700.
Take the first left onto Bread Street and continue onto West Port, straight onto Grassmarket and at the roundabout go straight through onto Cowgatehead.
Turn right onto Guthrie Street and then take a left onto Chambers Street and finally left onto South Bridge/A7. Hilton Edinburgh Carlton will be on your right.
FROM EDINBURGH INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT BY BUSWalk about 3 minutes from the airport to the Hilton hotel and take the number 100 bus to Waverley Bridge. From here it is a 5 minute walk to the Hilton Edinburgh Carlton hotel.
The bus departs every 10 minutes and the journey takes approximately 35 minutes door to door.
FROM EDINBURGH INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT BY TRAMA tram is also available from the airport and brings passengers to Princes Street in approximately 35 minutes. From Princes Street it is a 10 minute walk to the hotel.
CAR PARKPublic parking is available at the Waverley Car Park via the entrance on New Street. Guests staying at the Hilton Edinburgh Carlton receive a 20% discount on advertised car park rates. The car park is a 3 minute drive and a 7 minute walk from the hotel.
From the hotel turn left onto High Street then along the Royal Mile, turn left on New Street and the car park entrance is towards the end of the street on your left hand side.
