S200 KKS Series Accessory RangeOptional equipment for enhancing the control and performance

of the S200 KKS pump series.

EXTERNAL DIMENSIONSFoot valve and strainer Assists in maintaining the prime of the pump under suction lift conditions and prevents large solidsfrom entering the pump.

Suction lanceCombining a foot valve and strainer, the suction lance is inserted into thesuction vessel, where it ensures maximum draw-down. It allows lowlevel switching to stop the pump and can provide low-level cut-out. A further option of low-level warning may be incorporated.

Injection fittingThis maintains back pressure on the pump, even when the pump isdis-connected. It generally assistswith the control of flow and alsoinjects material into the centre of the flow. Additionally, it serves as ananti-syphon device and non-returnvalve.

Pressure loading valveOn systems operating below 1 bar,the pressure loading valve maintainsback pressure on the pump andensures that accurate flow control is sustained. It also serves as an anti-syphon device.

Pressure relief valveA safety device that protects thepump and system from damage if over-pressure occurs.

Multifunction valveCombines the function of pressureloading and pressure relief valve intoa single unit that saves in installationcost and provides anti-syphon protection and drain facility.

Flow switchProvides a positive indication thatthe pump is operating and the fluidis flowing.

Electronic controllerA complete control system that provides a loop back to the pump to maintain the required chemicaldose. It can make the system more efficient and more economical.

Pulsation damperFitted to the suction or dischargeside of the pump, it reduces pressuresurges on arduous applications suchas long dosing lines.

TubingAvailable in a wide range of diameters and materials, includingPVDF, PFA, PE, nylon-reinforced PVCand others on request.

Tank and pump setsA stand-alone and single-sourcedchemical delivery system that can be bunded if required and can incorporate stirrers. Pre-engineeredand tested, they are delivered to siteready to install and are available in arange of tank capacities up to 4,500litres - although larger sets can alsobe engineered.

Drawing dimensions may varydepending upon model/pump head. mm (unless stated)

Construction materials

The S200 KKS pump housing is constructed of lightweight moulded thermoplastic, aestheticin appearance and robust in construction. The use of thermoplastic polyester material ensuressuperb chemical resistance. The finished is blue, RAL 5007. The choice of pump head materialsare as follows:

Electronics

• A wide range of electronic options are offered, all of proven microprocessor-based systemdesign. For protection, electronics are segregated from the wet end motor.

• User-friendly controls in the form of simple adjustments are located behind a transparenttamper-proof cover.

• KKS electronic connections are clearly labelled and are made via high integrity plug and socket arrangements.

Metering system - how it works

• To maintain a full pumping chamber, the KKS pump diaphragm reciprocates at a constantrate. The resultant recirculated flow ensures trouble-free operation, with the excess gaseousfluid returned to the suction chamber.

• The precise manual stroke adjustment system operates on a variable bypass principle bywhich the displacement of the ceramic plunger is constant, thus ensuring that the wholefluid chamber volume is swept – and gas hold up cannot occur.

• This simple manual adjustment facility is further enhanced by a wide range of electronicoptions and models.

• Double ball valves ensures greater accuracy at low flows.

Motors

• Motor ratings are common across the KKS pump range.

• The motor drive is an overload-proof synchronous motor enclosed within a dedicated partof the pump housing, and segregated from the electronics.

• Motor rating 18.7 watts.

• Protection class IP65.

• Voltages 115 or 230-1-50Hz or 24-1-50Hz.

Application and Product Selection

• A must for gassing fluids. In such applications, conventional diaphragm pumps can poseproblems working at very low flow rates and where external de-gassing devices are notfitted.

• KKS pumps overcome these problems without any external device – making them idealfor metering the most difficult of gassing fluids, such as sodium hypochlorite, peraceticacid, hydrazine, ammonia and hydrogen peroxide.

• By virtue of their plunger and bypass design, KKS pumps provide substantially moreaccurate metering than alternative low-flow diaphragm pumps. This makes them idealfor use on exacting applications such as disinfection or fluoridation – without dilution.

• Suction configurations can be either suction lift (of 2mwg) or flooded suction (maximum positive head of 3mwg).

• Applications with temperature up to 40˚C with standard PVDF head.

Metering control

• Large-scale manual micrometer stroke length control is fitted as standard with 100:1 turn down.

• For pump speed control, integrated electronic speed control is available for:- manual control.- external pulse control.- analogue control (0-20 or 4-20mA).

• ± 2% accuracy

* Suction capacity with clean, moistened valves., ref water @ 20ºC

Applications of the Signal 200 KKSpump include accurate metering for:

• Disinfection applications.

• High accuracy potable water treatment

applications.

• Boiler feed water applications.

• Gassing liquids

The S200 KKS is an engineering masterpiece, designed to pump very small volumes of easily-gassing fluids – such as sodium hypochlorite andhydrogen peroxide – with great accuracy andrepeatability. It does this by engineering design, without any add-on equipment, offering exceptionally low flow rates of as little as 0.002litres/hour. To this is added the precise controlaccuracy of large-scale micrometer stroke lengthadjustment and synchronous motor drive.
