The mission of SCCA is to be an association of responsible
professionals which functions to enhance human development and
to advance the counseling and human development profession.

Vision Statement To unite persons engaged or interested in any phase of
counseling and human development in South Carolina To maintain and improve professional standards in the
field of counseling and development. To encourage the development of counseling activities
through South Carolina To serve as a central clearing agency for the information
pertinent to present or contemplated personnel and programs in South Carolina.
To disseminate information and to educate the public about the human development professional.
To stimulate creative and experimental activities in the counseling and development field.
To promote research in guidance, counseling, and development work and in other related fields.

SOUTH CAROLINA COUNSELING ASSOCIATION (SCCA)
Our Success Measures Maintains a strong and energized professional counseling chapter of
the American Counseling Association where membership characteristics support its mission, vision, and core strategic initiatives.
Provides financial viability for SCCA. Engages in a visionary leadership development plan to support active
governance of SCCA. Develops and sustains continuing education strategies for counseling
professionals within South Carolina and identified bordering areas. Cultivates consistent staging of professional counseling presence in
social media and technology. Establishes and maintains the recognition of South Carolina
Counseling Association as a valuable professional counseling organization within the State and identified boarding areas of South Carolina and as a contributing chapter of the Southern Region, and the American Counseling Association.
Provides leadership in establishing partnerships, sponsorships, and as an association in government relations.
