Funding History• State Fiscal Year (SFY) 2013:– Attorney General Miller authorized a one-time transfer of

approximate $1.1 million dollar from our reserve to minimize the federal and state funding cuts.

• Victim Services Programs continue to be providing services on minimal or bare bones budgets.

• Anticipated additional funding cuts in SFY2014. • Programs are struggling to make payroll , continue to

keep their shelter doors open, are closing outreach offices, and limiting their response and services in their outlying catchment or service area.

met with Coalition Directors to discuss recommendations.

– Includes assistance with food, clothing & medical needs• 24-Hour Regional Crisis Line• Advocacy to Shelter-based clients (court/legal, medical, housing,

personal or general advocacy, etc.)• Case Management for Victims at Shelter• Counseling: By Staff or through Collaborative Partnerships• Information & Referral • Programming Specific to Children at Shelter• Support Group for Shelter Residents• Transportation of clients• Volunteer Program

Victim Services will apply in a one-year application for State Fiscal Year 2014 (7/1/13-6/30/14). • Consider a two-year application cycle for State Fiscal

Year 2015-2016 and then back to a three-year application cycle.

Non-Victim Services will apply for a three-year application for State Fiscal Year 2014-2016 (7/1/13-6/30/16).

CVAD Assistance• Identify and Apply as a State for Federal and Foundation funds

– Transitional Housing and other Discretionary funds through Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) as a State

– Housing & Economic Justice funds through Federal Government– Foundation Funds that could assist our state with services

• Crime Victim Compensation Program– Currently, doing research on offering a compensation benefit

for emergency shelter and relocation• Requires a legislative change

• Create a Plan and Assist Programs with Transition of Services• Assist Program in Strengthening Collaboration in State Fiscal Year
