Book of Remembrance During the month of November we remember our departed loved ones in prayer. All are invited to write in the Book the names of

their loved ones who have died. This tradition celebrates the Communion of Saints, the one body of the Church, with Christ as our head. Those who have gone before us, in heaven and in purgatory, and those still on earth, all share in the holiness of Christ as a holy people sealed in the blood of the Lamb. The Book of Remembrance is located on the side altar of Mary.

Dear Members of the Catholic Faithful,

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your sup-port of Catholic Charities North Dakota Sunday! Your outpouring of love and generosity has been wonderful, and truly humbling to the point of tears.

We are so very grateful for the opportunity to share with you a glimpse of the people we serve every day and a window into the work of our adoption, pregnancy, guardianship, and counseling programs. Nothing is more powerful than so many people joining together in prayer for an increase in charity!

We were surprised by how many people shared their stories of adoptions years ago with us or who have family members cared for by our guardianship work-ers. We also encouraged by the wonderful feedback from so many of you who were excited to really learn about us for the first time, and even asked us to share more stories in another video next year!

We feel so blessed to be able to show you the good work made possible through you as members of the local Church. We believe this is a positive story worth sharing, so please visit our website if you haven’t already and tell others about our video so they can learn about us too!

Sincerely, Dianne Nechiporenko, Executive Director, Catholic Charities North Dakota

Corey Baumgartner Sacred Heart Major Seminary, Detroit, MI St. Philip Neri, Napoleon, ND

What would be your best vacation ever? I have always dreamed of backpacking the Camino de Santiago or any sort of hiking. Hiking the Camino is a definite Bucket list item that I will achieve in my life.

What’s your favorite recreational activity? Disc golf or Ultimate Frisbee are some of my favorite ways to release energy.

What is the last book you read for enjoyment? Book One of the Lord of the Rings. I love the movies and thought it is about that time to read them.

Who’s your favorite super hero? Captain America or Ant Man.

Who is your favorite saint and why? St. Joseph. He is such a great role model for what Catholic men should be like. He is strong and provides for his family and listens to the Lord with full confidence.

How do any of your family members support you? With a lot of love and prayers, and if I need it, some extra cash if I find myself in a tight corner.

Are your grandparents still alive? Do you know how many cousins you have? My mother’s mom, Arvada Johnson, is still living and for my cousins, I believe there are on both sides a total of 100 aunts and uncles, cousins, 2nd cousins, and a few step. Family gatherings are a lot of fun!

Before entering the seminary did you experience any doubts? Of course I did. When going off and doing something you did not for see yourself doing 3 years ago and you’re actually doing it, doubts will come, but trusting in the Lord and being confident in Him is a great way to squash those doubts.

Did you attend any discernment weekends or camps before applying to become a seminarian? If so, which one(s). I went to an Operation Andrew Supper in May of 2014. That is the only discernment gathering I have gone to.

What job / work have you enjoyed the most? Is there a job / work that you liked the least? This summer I worked out at Sheyenne Gardens in Harwood (north of Fargo). It was really fun to work out there. To just be in nature and do a labor job without a lot of thinking. There are not a lot of things I do not like in the world.
