WHAT IS THEOLOGY OF THE BODY?
"Theology of the Body" is the title given to a collection of talks (addresses) on God's design for human sexuality by Pope John Paul II during the course of five
years. Appealing to the individual's experiences of truth, the Holy Father dis-cusses both Sacred Scripture and Catholic Tradition on the subject. This ap-proach seeks not only to make understandable the rich theology of Catholic
teaching on the nature of humanity created as man and woman, but also to com-municate the truth and beauty of God's design of human sexuality. Included in this series is a substantial reflection on the papal encyclical, Humanae vitae (Of
Human Life) which treats married love and responsible parenthood.

Pierce 150th Parade is Sun, July 4th!! St Joseph’s Parish plans to be in the parade! We would like as many children and youth in our religious education programs to participate by walking with our parish banner. Hands For Christ is a weekend of bringing our youth and adults from our community churches together in service to those in need in our community. Prayer in the Cave of the Heart: The Universal Call to Contemplation, June 5, one-day retreat at Saint Benedict Cen-ter, Schuyler, with internationally known musician Father Cyprian Consiglio, OSB Cam., from Big Sur, CA. Prayer is an art that cannot just be taught. It must be experienced, lived, and practiced. Fr. Cyprian will draw on his experience as a Camaldolese monk to give us an accessible refection on prayer that is based on Fr. Bede Griffith's "universal call to con-templation." In his teaching, the contemplative traditions of East and West intersect to invite readers into prayer that makes them present to the Spirit who is already present to us. – Social distancing will be observed, please bring your mask. SJF Library: Visitors and newcomers might not know that we maintain a self-service lending library. It is located under the choir stairs and is simple to use. There's a wide variety of books on various religious topics, reference books, an extensive pamphlet rack, also children's books and toddler board books. These resources are available to everyone, and the library is always open.

from 4 - 10pm. It will also be the 1st Friday of the Month

Board Book Collection: During May and June we will be collecting board books for Christ Child Society. A book is packed into a diaper bag that includes a handmade blanket, diapers, and other baby essentials and these are distrib-uted through medical offices, social agencies and schools all over eastern Nebraska as a welcome gift for low income newborns and their parents. See the display board at the collection point in the church lobby for more information.
Confession and Eucharistic Adoration every week at 4:55 pm to 5:25 pm before the 5:30 pm Saturday mass. Fr. in confessional up front in the former mother's room.
Women of all ages Interested in joining a Bible Study Group?
We are a group that meets on Monday nights at the CCD Prep Center in Randolph. We begin at 6:00pm and usually close between 7:00 and 7:30pm. At present we are studying “Women of the Bible”. This study looks at the lives of fifty-two prominent-and not so prominent-women of scrip-ture, offering a fresh perspective on the story of salvation. We read Key Scriptures from the Bible that pertain to the woman we are study-ing for the night. Each week I provide a guide that we follow. The Grade School Program (for those entering Grades 1st –6th)
is Monday, June 14th - Friday, June 18th from 9am - 2:30pm. Each day includes catechetical instructions, daily Mass, songs,
games & recess.
Junior High & High School Youth (for those entering 7th - 12th & graduated seniors) will meet beginning Sunday, June 13th - Thursday, June 17th
