WREATHS ACROSS AMERICA
“Be an American Worth Fighting For”
There are approximately 1,500 veterans laid to rest at St. Pat-
rick’s Cemetery on King St. here in Enfield. It is the goal of
the American Legion John Maciolek Unit 154 Auxiliary to
remember and honor every veteran in St. Patrick’s Cemetery
by placing a wreath at their final resting place. You can help
them reach their goal by contacting Marlene Hoginski at 860-
749-2393 to sponsor a wreath. The cost for each wreath is
only $15. The American Legion John Maciolek Unit 154
Auxiliary will host this year’s ceremony on December 19,
2020 at 12 PM. The ceremony will take place at St. Patrick’s
Cemetery, King St. and the public is invited to attend.
The inspiration for this year’s theme came from a keynote
address made by Staff Sgt. Daniel Strong during the 2018
escort to Arlington welcome stop at Montachusett Regional
Vocational Technical School (Monty Tech) located in Fitch-
burg, MA.
The American Legion John Maciolek Unit 154 Auxiliary and
Wreaths Across America thanks you in advance for helping
in their mission to Remember, Honor and Teach by sponsor-
ing a wreath for a veteran’s final resting place. For more in-
formation visit: www.wreathsacrossamerica.org.

The Month of the Rosary
Remember the rosary is a beautiful,
meditative prayer that brings us closer
to our Lord and Mary his mother. Make
some time, remove distraction and bring yourself to a place
of beauty and peace by praying the rosary regularly.
Although we cannot gather to pray together in person,
please make time and pray the rosary for those with serious
illness, those suffering from Covid-19 and those in hospi-
tals and nursing homes on Tuesday, October 20, 2020.
Thank you.
This October 2020 issue of the Catholic Transcript has
many articles on the rosary. For those who have never
prayed the rosary before, there is a wonderful graphic to
guide you.
Special notice: The Enfield Public Libraries (Central and
Pearl Street) will be holding a special collection for the
Enfield Food Shelf beginning November 1, 2020 through
the month of December. Non-perishable food items, per-
sonal hygiene products and paper products are welcome.
Bins will be located in the lobbies of both libraries for do-
nations. Thank you!
SAINT RAYMOND OF PENAFORT
PRAYER LINE
Are you or someone you know in need of prayer?? Why
not call the St. Raymond of Penafort Prayer Line. The line
is easy to use and the request can be as specific or as gen-
eral as you wish. The Prayer Line works like this: the re-
quest goes out through a network of members who will
then pray for and pass on the request to their individual
groups, thus forming a “prayer line.” If you have a request
please call 860-745-6492 between the hours of 9:00
AM—9:00 PM.

GUIDELINES FOR ATTENDING WEEKDAY/
WEEKEND MASS
If you are sick, feeling ill or you are high risk,
please stay home.
Face masks must be worn for your protection as
well as for others.
Upon entering church, please sanitize your
hands – this is especially important.
Follow social distancing, i.e. at least 6 feet away
from each other. Pews are now blocked off
for easy social distancing. (Churches are sani-
tized between Masses.)
Very limited music with only 2 musicians (usually
an organist and one cantor), no congregational
singing and no worship aids will be allowed,
etc.
Distribution of Holy Communion will also follow
social distancing and sanitizing guidelines.
Protocols have been set in place for both
churches for the celebration of weekday and
weekend Mass.
Offertory envelope(s) will be collected in a sepa-
rate receptacle upon entering/exiting church.
You may still continue to drop them thru the
mail slot at the rectory or mail them directly to
the parish office. The parish thanks you for
your continued support.
Bulletins are available at each church. You may
also find them online at our website:
www.straymondenfield.org
The dispensation from the Sunday obligation pre-
viously granted to all Catholics of the Archdi-
ocese by the Archbishop will continue through
Sunday, November 28, 2020. The elderly, the
sick, and those who care for anyone who is
vulnerable remain encouraged not to attend at
this time. Mass is available via St. Raymond
of Peñafort YouTube, ORTV on WTXX-
Channel 20 or Channel 11 on most cable sys-
tems for those who cannot attend in person.
Continue to pray for those affected by the corona-
virus, and those who care for them, for our
community and the world!
Additional information may be found on the Archdiocesan
website: https://archdioceseofhartford.org/coronavirus/
Please continue to stay well and safe! God bless!
