Built over a century ago, we all owe a debt of gratitude to the Irish faithful who were the first to call this church their parish. For apart from the countless sacrifices made by that first generation of faithful to build a suitable house of prayer and divine worship for the greater glory of God, this beautiful church would not exist. Our beautiful stained glass windows, perhaps the most stunning feature of the church, have been newly restored. Rendered in the Munich Pictorial style, they depict scenes from the life of Christ as well as images of various angels and saints. The careful observer will discern elements from the Gothic, Romanesque, and Byzantine styles which together make up the style known as Venetian Gothic. Bishop Paprocki consecrated the new main and side altars in 2012 and established the church as a personal parish on New Years Day, 2014. The liturgy celebrated at St. Rose follows the extraordinary form of the Roman Rite, and employs primarily the ancient Latin language. On Sundays, translations of both the ordinary and propers of the Mass are provided. To follow daily Mass you may wish to invest in a daily Latin English Missal available at the rectory or download an app like IMass. Internet access is available in church at StRoseChurch (password: latinmass). Make sure to mute your device while in church. Also, St. Roses state-of-the-art heating and cooling system assures a comfortable environment year round in which to pray and worship. After both Sunday Masses, visitors are invited to meet and greet our parishioners in the parish hall and socialize over coffee and donuts. If interested in joining the parish, simply call the office.

“Traditional Latin Mass”

Under the Pastoral Care of The Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter

Fr. Arnaud Devillers, FSSP Pastor

Blessing of Pope Francis on the occasion of the 25th anniversary, 28 October 2013

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary

of the foundation of the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter Pope Francis joins the thanksgiving of her members for the work accomplished in this quarter-century spent at the service of ecclesial communion cum Petro et sub Petro. It was in a moment of great trial for the Church that the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter was created. In a great spirit of obedience and hope, her founders turned with confidence to the Successor of Peter in order to offer the faithful attached to the Missal of 1962 the possibility of living their faith in the full communion of the Church. The Holy Father encourages them to pursue their mission of reconciliation between all the faithful, whichever may be their sensibility, and this to work so that all welcome one another in the profession of the same faith and the bond of an intense fraternal charity.

By way of the celebration of the sacred Mysteries according to the extraordinary form of the Roman rite and the orientations of the Constitution on the Liturgy Sacrosanctum Concilium, as well as by passing on the apostolic faith as it is presented in the Catechism of the Catholic Church, may they contribute, in fidelity to the living Tradition of the Church, to a better comprehension and implementation of the Second Vatican Council. The Holy Father exhorts them, according to their own charism, to take an active part in the mission of the Church in the world of today, through the testimony of a holy life, a firm faith and an inventive and generous charity. Entrusting to the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary and of Saint Peter, apostle, all the pilgrims assembled in Lourdes or at the church of Saint-Sulpice in Paris to give thanks to the Lord on this occasion, the Holy Father grants them with open heart the Apostolic Benediction. Paris, October 28, 2013 On the feast of Saints Simon and Jude, Apostles. Luigi VENTURA Apostolic Nuncio

Today they have about 300 priests worldwide and over 150 seminarians training to be priests. The numbers in Memento are not accurate and the Fraternity has not published this year numbers yet on www.fssp.org

PICTURES ARE IN!!

For those who had their portrait taken but did not purchase a package; your free 8x10 has arrived! Please come to parish office between 8am –12pm or 1-3pm to pick it up.

TIME IS RUNNING OUT!

Don’t delay! Portrait sessions are over, but it’s not too late to be included in the parish directory! The company charges $10 for submitted photos, but you will receive a free directory! A reminder that directories will not be available for sale. Only those participating receive one. Photos and payment must be received in parish office by Oct 31. Contact office for details on how to submit.

ROSTER INFORMATION

All parishioners, whether photos have been taken/submitted or not, will be listed in the back of the directory. Families who do not submit preferences will only have City and State of residence listed under name. If you prefer additional info to be included, information must be submitted to office by Oct. 31.

If you count money, are an usher, serve at coffee & donuts, or work at any event; then you must complete the Protecting God’s Children program and have a background check. This is required by the Diocese and very important for the safety of our children. We will be having a session on Sunday November 19 following the 8am Mass in the basement of the parish hall. Thank you to Sue Zanger who is our facilitator.

If you cannot attend our session, Blessed Sacrament has a session scheduled on Monday, November 13, 6:00-9:00 p.m. and Monday, December 4, 6:00-9:00 p.m. Call them at 222-2759 to register & then please notify us.

$120,000

Our donations total $83,163 which is 69% of our goal.

Please consider making a donation to help us reach or goal.

“He loves, He hopes, He waits. If He came down on our altars on certain days only, some sinner, on being moved to

repentance, might have to look for Him, and not finding Him, might have to wait. Our Lord prefers to wait Himself

for the sinner for years rather than keep him waiting one instant.”- St. Julian Peter Eymard
