Mission StatementS.W.I.M. will work to provide more potable drinking water to aid in the prevention of water-born diseases, malnutrition, and unhealthful hygiene; and as a result, improve the quality of life for the innocent people of Somalia.

What is the Problem? Less than 29% of

Somalia’s population use an up-to-date water supply

Only 29% of the country’s water is safe to drink

25% of the population has access to sanitation

As of January 2010, 3.2 million Somalis are in need of emergency care

beginning stages.

While we do not currently have the funds to sustain our own mission to Somalia, we appreciate donations

to begin the planning of a trip and to pass along to currently operating organizations in Somalia.

While we Work to Become an Independent Not-for-Profit Organization…

S.W.I.M. is under the umbrella of Bay Area Tour, an arts outreach program fiscally sponsored by The Field, a not-for-profit, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization

All donations to S.W.I.M. must first be processed by BAT/The Field before going to Somalia’s Water Improvement Mission
